Instructions: Read both "The Chimney Sweeper" poems from William Blake. Then, write a thoughtful and considered posting that answers the following questions about each of these poems. Write no less than 150 word-explanation and include an example from each poem. Provide page numbers.Explanation: The growth of cities in industrializing Europe and North America pushed poets to reformulate their understanding of the countryside and the city. Blake's "The Chimney Sweeper" poems, among others, such as "London," show the harsh, wretched conditions of the city that pushed him and other Romantic poets to re-imagine the experience of life and nature. One way Blake re-imagines poetry is to create the protagonist as a child, which is an innovative, perhaps radical, departure from the use of conventional protagonists and heroic characters in his time.Question: William Blake, in both of his "Chimney Sweeper" poems, uses the voices of child workers in response to the terrible, dangerous child labor practices of the late-eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries in London. How effective is the use of children's voices in these two poems when the audience of these would be a literary, well-to-do, middle and upper-class adult readership? What might be his reasons for doing so?Don't forget to respond to one other classmate's posting. You can, of course, respond to as many as you wish to.
