Which passage from the metamorphosis best illustrates the novella’s message about the pain of alienation
The correct answer is option A, "If Gregor had only been able to speak to his sister and thank her for everything that she had to do for him, he would have tolerated..."
Allienation in the storyPassage A from "The Metamorphosis" illustrates the message about the pain of alienation by showing how the lack of communication between Gregor and his sister causes him to feel isolated and unsupported. Despite his transformation into a monstrous insect, Gregor is still able to recognize the kindness and care that his sister shows him, as she is the only member of his family who continues to provide for his needs.
However, because he cannot communicate with her, he is unable to express his gratitude or form any sort of emotional connection with her. This lack of connection leaves Gregor feeling even more isolated and alone, exacerbating the physical discomfort he experiences due to his metamorphosis. The passage suggests that the pain of alienation is not just caused by the physical separation from others, but also by the emotional distance that can arise when communication breaks down.
This is the complete question:
Which passage from The Metamorphosis best illustrates the novella’s message about the pain of alienation?
If Gregor had only been able to speak to his sister and thank her for everything that she had to do for him, he would have tolerated her service more easily. As it was, he suffered under it.Now, Gregor could do without the chest of drawers if need be, but the writing desk really had to stay. And scarcely had the women left the room with the chest of drawers, groaning as they pushed it, when Gregor stuck his head out from under the sofa to take a look how he could intervene cautiously and with as much consideration as possible.Already he was starting to suffer from a shortage of breath, just as in his earlier days when his lungs had been quite unreliable. . . . at that moment something or other thrown casually flew down close by and rolled in front of him. It was an apple. Immediately a second one flew after it. Gregor stood still in fright."Now," said Gregor, well aware that he was the only one who had kept his composure. "I'll get dressed right away, pack up the collection of samples, and set off. You see, Mr. Manager, I am not pig-headed, and I am happy to work."Learn more about "The Metamorphosis" here:

Ishmael and Queequeg arrive in Nantucket with no further misadventure. Ishmael fills this brief chapter with a rhapsody on the nature of Nantucket, where, as the story goes, a small Native American boy was once carried by a bird, and where his family went after to find him, and settled, thus founding the town. Nantucket is now almost entirely a port for whaling and fishing, and Ishmael remarks that, although the great colonial powers of the earth seek far and wide for land to add to their empires, Nantucket “controls two-thirds of the world” because its denizens control the seas, and make their money in pursuit of “walruses and whales.”

What is paragraph?
A paragraph is a standalone section of writing that discusses a single idea or point. Although they are not required by orthographic norms of any language with a system of writing, paragraphs are a common way to structure lengthy prose passages. The earliest forms of classical British as well as Latin writing, which could be written in boustrophedon, had little to no space between words (alternating directions). The direction of text (left to right) standardised over time. Word separators and final punctuation became widespread. The first method of grouping sentences was indeed the original paragraph, which looked like an underscore at the start of a new group.

Atlas Shrugged - The Trilogy
You know when you're sick and need something mindless to watch? And the thing you pick turns out to be so terrible that you almost become sicker? That describes the Atlas Shrugged trilogy.
I could spend hours going on about how bad this movie was but here are some of the lowlights.
First off...the cast changes from movie to movie...not the characters the actors playing them. Whether it was because the people making the films were running out of money and the subsequent sequels were budgeted lower grade I don't know but...it was a wee bit off putting.
Secondly...the whole trilogy is shot in some sort of soft focus sort of thing more reminiscent of softcore entertainment from the 90s. Maybe it was intended to make it more sci-fi-ish or something but...again...no clue.
Thirdly...the dialogue. I have never ready Ayn Rand's work nor do I care to but...my god...if these movies are even a faint reflection of her work then it so so heavy handed and over the top that it's more than slightly cringeworthy.
Fourthly the editing was/is atrocious. Characters appear and disappear almost at will. Little explanation is given to motive or...anything.
I freely admit I watched it until the end out of...self loathing or something I don't know but...if you don't want to make yourself even sicker...avoid it at all costs.

Can someone re-write this in their own words: "Embracing one's racial heritage is one of Nella Larsen's key themes in Passing." Irene and Clare eventually learn that they must accept their mixed-race heritage rather than try to conceal it or fit into an artificial cultural mold. They might achieve inner peace and a feeling of belonging by accepting their own identity. This comes in the shape of a newfound respect for her African background for Irene, and it comes in the form of Clare's ability to appreciate both her white and black origins without having to deny either. In the end, both characters understand that accepting their ethnic ancestry is the only way to truly be accepted by the world around them."
One of the main topics in passing by Nella Larsen is accepting one's racial origin. Irene and Clare eventually come to the realization that they must embrace their mixed-race history, as opposed to trying to hide it or conform to an unnatural cultural mould.
If they accept who they are, they might find inner peace and a sense of belonging. This manifests as Clare's capacity to accept both her white and black ancestors without having to deny either, as well as Irene's newfound respect for her African heritage.

Read the excerpt from Does My Head Look Big in This? by Randa Abdel-Fattah.
I froze. The priest would declare me a heretic, my parents would call me a traitor, and Mrs. Piogarni would give me detention. I had no idea what to say. I mean, what does a Muslim confess to a priest? I could only think of one thing. That every time Chris Barkley called me a darkie, or teased me about my mom's towel-head, I made a silent prayer asking God to drop a tree on his stupid head.
The priest asked me again: "What is your confession, my child?"
"I’m Muslim," I whispered.
"Five Hail Marys and five of the Lord’s Prayer.”
That was my first and last participation in a church service.
Answer:
A
Explanation:
In the story, the narrator states "I had no idea what to say. I mean, what does a Muslim confess to a priest?".
Additionally, the narrator states "I froze". The narrator worries about what other people will think about them. They think that their parents will call them a traitor, or their teacher will give them a detention.
The narrator is scared and worried, because they are confessing they are Muslim to a Catholic priest. They are frightened about the outcomes of this action.
She is not confused, and the story does not mention the Lord's Prayer. She is terrified, but not from shame from her thoughts. She is also not annoyed.
Therefore, the best choice is A: The narrator is frightened because she is a Muslim making a Catholic confession.
