How can borders create cooperation?

Answers

Answer:

Borders essentially create guidelines and sets up a countries right to a piece of land. If this is betrayed, it is easy to see who is in the wrong. In messing with the land owned by another country, one might risk the intervention from the United Nations, a sure defeat, or other independent countries aiding in the name of peace or political aspiration. The cooperation as a result stems from the risk of upsetting the peace and having government intervention from others if the resulting wars are lost.

Economic relationships may dictate behavior when money and finance are emphasized over public good. Political borders protect states' interests over efforts to cooperate and collaborate. Social and cultural borders may prevent groups from working together when protection of their identity clashes with the need for cooperation.

2) Due to rapid increases in factors like physical capital, education, and skills, lead to a breakdown in Malthus's logic.

1) First, physical capital is not fixed like the land is in the agricultural production function. Second, labor in manufacturing and services is not only a function of man hours as in the agricultural sector, but also a function of the education and skills of workers.

The industrial revolution led to new methods of production and increases in productivity . The industrial revolution led to consistent and quick rises in all three factors.

2) We assumed that in the steady-state productivity, land, and number of hours worked per worker were constant. However, the industrial revolution brought to a quick rise in physical capital, worker education and skill levels, new production techniques, and increased productivity. These lead to the breakdown of the steady-state assumption in our simple Malthus model, as the increase in factors outpaced the slower Malthusian forces.

how did the roman church respond to martin luther's reforms? explain three reforms hr brought to the church

Answers

Martin Luther's reforms, including justification by faith, the priesthood of all believers, and vernacular worship and Bible translation, sparked opposition from the Roman Church and resulted in the Protestant Reformation.

The Roman Church responded to Martin Luther's reforms with resistance and opposition, leading to the Protestant Reformation. Here are three key reforms that Martin Luther brought to the church:

1. Justification by Faith: Luther challenged the Catholic Church's teachings on salvation, particularly the practice of selling indulgences. He emphasized the concept of justification by faith alone, asserting that salvation comes through faith in God's grace rather than through the accumulation of good works or indulgences.

2. Priesthood of All Believers: Luther advocated for the idea that all believers have direct access to God and can interpret scripture for themselves, without the need for intermediary priests. He believed in the priesthood of all believers, highlighting the individual's personal relationship with God and the importance of personal faith.

3. Vernacular Worship and Bible Translation: Luther promoted the use of the vernacular language (such as German) in worship services and Bible translations. He translated the Bible into German, making it accessible to the common people and enabling them to engage with scripture directly. This emphasis on vernacular worship and Bible translation aimed to increase understanding and engagement with religious teachings.

These reforms challenged the authority and practices of the Roman Catholic Church and led to significant divisions within Christianity, ultimately shaping the landscape of Western Christianity and giving rise to Protestant denominations.

I need 3 paragraph about the roanoke they each have to have 8 sentences

Answers

The Roanoke Colony was suppose to be the first permanent English colony in North America. The attempt was lead by a man named Sir Walter Raleigh. The first Roanoke Colony was founded by Ralph Lane in 1585 on the Roanoke Island. This colony would ultimately fail. A second colony, led by John White, would be created. But still they had a lot of struggles, mainly with supplies and poor relations with the natives. Due to lack of supplies and bad relations with the natives, John White would set out to return to England with the intent on bringing supplies back to Roanoke. After successfully making it to England he was delayed to return to Roanoke until 1590 due to the Anglo-Spanish War.

As John White was making his way up to the settlement upon return, he found the Roanoke Colony fortified but weirdly abandoned. Only clue he could find on what happened was a cryptic word, "CROATOAN", carved into the palisade. This made him think that they have relocated to an island called Croatoan Island. But another unfortunate thing happened. Before he could follow the lead, rough seas and a lost anchor caused them to half to return to England. John White would never be able to find out what happened to his colony. About 112-121 colonists went missing from the Roanoke Colony. The mystery remains unsolved.

People have speculated that the Natives had something to do with the disappearance of the Roanoke Colony. This theory was thought of due to their lack of good relations with the Natives. The idea that they were massacred could be true. Another theory is that the colonist might have made relations with the Natives and assimilated with them. This is supported by little evidence, except for the fact of stories of people with European features in Native villages. But still how could a whole colony of between 112-121 people just vanish without really any evidence. This event is definitely a very weird. Whatever happened to the Roanoke Colony most likely wasn't good, but is unknown, and will probably stay that way.

The adjusting journal entry to record expiration of the insurance policy purchased by Nash's Trading Post, LLC on March 1, 2022, for $1920 on March 31, 2022, will include: Debit: Insurance Expense - $160 (calculated as $1920 divided by 12 months). Credit: Prepaid Insurance - $160

To determine the adjusting journal entry for the expiration of the insurance policy as of March 31, 2022, you should first calculate the monthly expense and then record the appropriate journal entry.

The policy was purchased for $1,920 and covers a 12-month period. To find the monthly expense, divide the total cost by the number of months:
$1,920 ÷ 12 = $160 per month
2. Determine the expense for the current month:
Since the policy started on March 1, 2022, and we are recording the adjusting journal entry at March 31, 2022, we need to account for the insurance expense for the month of March:
$160 (monthly expense) × 1 (month) = $160

The discovery of radium was quickly commercialized. In one case a fake person by the name of Doris Ashley was created to shill Tho-Radia face cream.

The discovery of radium was a significant milestone in the history of science and was quickly commercialized. The radioactive element was touted as a miracle cure for various ailments and was added to a variety of consumer products, including face creams. One of the most egregious examples of radium exploitation involved a fake person named Doris Ashley.

In the 1920s, the United States Radium Corporation manufactured a line of cosmetics called Tho-Radia that contained radium. The company advertised the products as a cure for acne, freckles, and other skin blemishes. To promote the brand, the company created a fictional character named Doris Ashley, who was supposedly a well-known socialite and beauty expert.

The company used the character to promote Tho-Radia and other radium-laced cosmetics, falsely claiming that they had been endorsed by a respected beauty authority.

The use of radium in consumer products was eventually banned due to concerns about its health risks. However, the legacy of radium exploitation lives on as a cautionary tale of the dangers of unregulated commercialization of scientific discoveries.

In conclusion, Doris Ashley was a fake person created to promote Tho-Radia face cream, which contained radium. The story of Doris Ashley is a testament to the unscrupulous marketing tactics that were employed to capitalize on the discovery of radium.

O The weather was freezing in every season.
O There were no bodies of water nearby.
O The swampy land attracted mosquitoes.
O They could not bring their ships up to the settlement.

Answers

The challenge did settlers face due to the location of Jamestown is There were no bodies of water nearby. Two of the main objectives, as in past colony attempts, were to discover gold and a waterway to Asia. Additionally, it was planned for the original Jamestown to be strategically placed far enough away from the James River so that it would be out of range of hostile ships like those of Spain.

What difficulties did the earliest settlers encounter?

The main issues the early settlers had to deal with were a lack of skilled labor, food shortages, disease, and illness, as well as forging relationships with the local Powhatan Indians.

The "starving time" in Jamestown was the winter of 1609–1610. The majority of colonists died that winter as a result of disease, violence, drought, a weak harvest followed by a hard winter, and insufficient drinking water.
