Answers

When writing a research report, there are three commonly employed methods for citing sources:

1. In-text citations: These involve including brief references within the body of the report whenever information is directly quoted, paraphrased, or summarized from a particular source. In-text citations generally consist of the author's name and the publication year, such as (Author, Year).

2. Footnotes or Endnotes: Some research reports utilize footnotes or endnotes to provide additional information or citations. These notes are placed at the bottom of the page (footnotes) or at the end of the document (endnotes) and contain detailed citations for specific sources.

3. Bibliography or References page: At the conclusion of a research report, a bibliography or references page is included. The day I found out that I was a foster kid
WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST TO THE PERSON WITH THE LONGEST STORY!!

Answers

The day I found out I was a foster kid, my life changed, for the worse. This was the largest impact of my life, I had to make a decision. Was I going to leave my siblings and find a foster family or stick with them and hope for the best? My so called “parents” had been lying to me for years. I always believed I was loved, turns out I was just alone.

They never told me I was a foster kid, that I was left for my own hardship. Once I found out, I was constantly moving to find the “perfect” foster home. I believed that there wasn’t such thing. At the age of eight, it was hard deciding who was trustworthy. People would always have empathy for us, but they never understood what we actually went through.

Suddenly, I realized how long I had been in foster care. I started realizing how nobody wanted me and nobody loved me. I never had a real relationship with a foster family, it was always one by one. I was transferred from one family to another, I wasn’t in the same one for more than a month. Would I ever amount to anything in life? Without a real family to support me and be there for me when things get tough, I didn’t have a clue about what I would do.

“I cannot afford to adopt” is something from families that I hear almost every day. It doesn’t cost that much to make a child happy and keep them safe because that is all that I really needed. I wished that someone would finally love and care for me but I never thought it was going to happen. In the past 4 months, I had been to 5 foster homes. The worst part is that even if I do find the “perfect” family, I might have to be separated from my biological siblings.

No matter what I did, there would always be something else in the way. I did not get why a family couldn’t adopt or take care of me and all of my siblings. It seemed like nobody wanted me and that was true. I dreamt of having a somewhat normal life, having a protective family and friends that help you aim to succeed but that was never going to happen. Nobody understood the way us foster kids feel, we never got to express our feelings.

The speaker of the poem believes that the address he is superior to him or her. What lines from the poem support this conclusion

Answers

The Duke's attitude towards his former wife in the poem "My Last Duchess" suggests that he thinks that he is superior to her and that he is willing to take drastic measures to ensure that he gets what he wants.

The poem "My Last Duchess" was written by Robert Browning. The speaker of the poem believes that the person he is speaking to is inferior to him. The lines from the poem that support this conclusion are: "She ranked my gift of a nine-hundred-year-old name with anybody's gift" and "I gave commands; then all smiles stopped together. "The first line quoted above suggests that the speaker is superior to the person he is speaking to because he is of high rank and has a name that has been passed down for centuries.

The other line suggests that the speaker is willing to take drastic measures to ensure that he gets what he wants, which implies that he thinks that he is more powerful than the person he is speaking to. Furthermore, he does not like the way that the Duchess looks at other people, which also suggests that he believes that he is superior to her. The poem is about a Duke who is showing off a portrait of his former wife to a man who is arranging his next marriage.

The Duke tells the man about the problems he had with his former wife, including the fact that she did not show him enough respect and that she smiled at other people too often. He then goes on to say that he had her killed, which implies that he believes that he is superior to her and that he is willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants.

Answer these questions based on the play, "The Different Ones" by Rod Serling.

1. Write the theme of the play: In the play “The Different Ones,” playwright Rod Serling suggests that…

2. How does the title relate to the theme? Restate the theme and discuss how the title connects to the theme.

3. How does the author use the plot to demonstrate the theme? What happens in the plot that delivers the message of the theme? Provide a quotation to prove this?

4. How does the setting relate to the theme? Does the setting affect the lesson that is learned? Could the play have been set somewhere else and the lesson been the same? Provide examples from the play to prove this.

Answers

The theme of Rod Serling's play "The Different Ones" suggests that prejudice and discrimination lead to violence and fear. The title "The Different Ones" relates to the theme as it symbolizes the discrimination and prejudice that people with differences often face in society. The play highlights the negative consequences of being "different" and how it affects one's life. The author uses the plot to demonstrate the theme through the characters' interactions and actions. In the play, the different characters are portrayed as outsiders and treated with suspicion and fear by the townspeople. When the townspeople discover that one of the different ones has a weapon, they react with violence, leading to the death of an innocent child. This event emphasizes the dangerous consequences of prejudice and discrimination. As stated in the play, "Fear of the unfamiliar and the alien, fear of the unknown, is the most irrational of all fears." The play's setting is crucial to the theme as it shows how townspeople's fear and prejudice are rooted in their community's norms and beliefs. The play's message would not have been as effective if it was set in another location. Due to their differences, the setting impacts the lesson learned by emphasizing how different people are treated as outsiders. Due to the town's deeply ingrained prejudice towards the different types, the play could not have been set anywhere else. For instance, the townspeople's reaction to the different ones is evident when they say, "They're different from us. They must be destroyed." In conclusion, "The Different Ones" is a thought-provoking play that addresses the negative consequences of prejudice and discrimination. The play's themes of violence and fear are delivered through a compelling plot and well-defined characters. The play effectively illustrates how fear and ignorance can lead to the destruction of innocent lives.
