But if you support her even though she did something bad, she will learn how a parent must act and react even at times like these. And that will become a good lesson for her to learn and be a good mother to her child too.
So, by setting aside your feelings and opinions and thinking rationally, everything will be more positive and easier to deal with. Cousin Lucy will feel assured that she has her family behind her back for support and be more encouraged even if others criticize her. moreover, it will be good for the baby to be around positive energy.
I hope what I write makes a bit of sense for you and make you understand things from outside your viewpoint. Thinking outside of your comfort zone may not lessen the damage but it will make you realize the predicament your daughter is in.
