Scandinavia is located in the Northern Hemisphere, specifically in the high-latitude region known as the boreal zone. This region is characterized by long, cold winters and short summers, as well as a relatively low level of solar radiation.
The countries of Norway, Sweden, and Denmark are located at a similar latitude as other northern regions in Europe, such as Finland and Russia, as well as regions in North America, like Alaska and Canada. Because of this similar latitude, these regions experience similar weather patterns and have similar ecosystems.
For example, boreal forests, tundra and glaciers are common in these regions. However, it's important to note that the proximity of the sea, the presence of the Gulf Stream and the local topography can affect the weather and temperature conditions, making some areas milder than others.
