Read the excerpt from Hidden Figures.
As the work intensified, something that had been hibernating in her mind awakened, and once roused it would not go away. She considered the issue and checked its logic, just as she did with her analytical work. At first she asked it only of herself, but eventually she came to the engineers with the question.
"Why can’t I go to the editorial meetings?" she asked the engineers. A postgame recap of the analysis wasn’t nearly as thrilling as being there for the main event. How could she not want to be a part of the discussion? They were her numbers, after all.
"Girls don't go to the meetings," Katherine’s male colleagues told her.
Which statements best summarize the excerpt?
A. Katherine Goble became more dedicated to her job as the work intensified. She asked to go to the editorial meetings so she could better understand what happened in them, but she was told that girls were not allowed to attend the meetings.
B. Katherine Goble became more determined to ask for a larger role as the scope of the work grew. Unsatisfied with summaries of the analysis that took place in the meetings, she asked why she could not go to the editorial meetings and was told that girls could not attend.
C. Katherine Goble became upset that she was not allowed to attend editorial meetings as her work became more involved. When she asked why she could not attend the meetings, she was given an unfair answer that upset her.
D. Katherine Goble confronted an issue that had been hibernating in her mind and that would not go away. She approached the situation logically, as she did with all of her work. When she asked why she could not attend the meetings, she was told that girls could not go.
The statements best summarize the excerpt is Katherine Goble became more dedicated to her job as the work intensified. She asked to go to the editorial meetings, so she could better understand what happened in them, but she was told that girls were not allowed to attend the meetings. Hence, option A is correct.

descriptive outline on " a talk to teachers " if anyone wouldnt mind
Answer: My time has come! I wrote something similar to this when I was in middle school.
Let's Talk
School am I right? School is full of people with different personalities, genders, and everything. So what makes it so aggravating for the students as well as the teachers? Let's talk about it for a second. Everyone has their own problems both teacher's and student's. But not everyone can express their feelings properly, some express it with fighting and being disruptive in the school environment, some express it by talking to people, while others don't express it at all and just keep it hidden from sight. This is something that very few people are able to recognize, so let's talk about it. This is on the view point of someone who understands just about everything that happens in the school environment. So listen up, I'll tell you a story about what happens with it all.
There are many problems with school, students getting bullied for the way they dress, rumors being spread, misunderstood students, students who have mental and emotional problems. I know what you are thinking, "so what?" am I right? Well many things can hide behind a fake smile, you would never believe how hurt or the type of pain someone can be in because all they do is smile and hide what is actually killing them. I like to believe that females wear makeup to hide their insecurities and males act tough to make up for their immaturity. Most people don't understand how stressful or how hard it is to explain what is going on in someone's head when that person doesn't really understands their self. You would never even believe that the 'happiest' person had a lot of problems. You don't notice how some students have the ability to act as if nothing was ever wrong on a daily basis, when in reality that they're on the verge of tears or something else but they keep pushing forward just to see how much more they can take. Pay close attention to the more quiet students, pay close attention to the students who are always so happy and smiley all the time because you never know if something is bothering them.
Not all teacher's understand the things that happen with a student on a daily basis, I'm not saying that students are always messing up and teachers aren't stressed out as well. What I am saying is that some students always are trying to be perfect for their parents or trying to copy their older siblings so where they can be noticed by their parents. I'm not saying that all parents are neglecting their children, what I am saying is that teachers along with parents can be small minded sometimes. Everyone is human, we all make mistakes and no one is perfect no matter how hard you try to become that way, you will still make mistakes. That's just how the world works.
Teacher, you need to understand that not all of your students understand what you are saying or what you are teaching. Some students stay quiet, so try to pay attention to everyone's reaction and emotions to what you are teaching. A teachers job is to teach as well as help their students understand the material, you have to be patient and think of new way of teaching the material and providing the students with information. Students don't always understand all of the material that is being provided, don't insult or get mad at them for not understanding, don't forget that they are human too. You have to think outside the box when it comes to teaching something new, don't make it sound boring or non-educating, try to come up with new ways to get students to participate and to minimize classroom disruptions.
A teacher was once a student who is still a student, while a student is a student of teaching new things to the teacher. Students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. It's not about being the best, it's about being better than you were yesterday.

You can rewrite the July 13 entry from "Anne Frank's Diary" from her father's perspective, as he recounts what took place that day between Anne and Dussel.
Tuesday, July 13, 1943.Anne came to me this evening, and I could swear she was livid. She had talked to Dussel in an attempt to secure the table from 4:00 to 5:30 twice a week. I am proud of Anne. She has not abandoned her studies, even though the world as we know it is in shambles. But I'm even prouder to think I have such a determined daughter. My little Anne is growing fast, and she will soon be a strong young woman. However - as was expected - Dussel was not receptive to the idea at all and, according to Anne, was rude and incorrect in his assumptions about my daughter. I suggest Anne should wait till next morning to talk to him, so that she would be calmer. She ignored my advice, but for sure she tried her best to be reasonable - I truly believe she was way more reasonable than he was. In the end, I also talked to the man, tried to make him have some common sense. The table is secured, and my Anne has won an important battle - as well as learned an important lesson on persistence and diplomacy.
Who was Anne Frank? The 13-year-old Jewish girl called Anne Frank was one of the millions of victims of the Nazi regime. Her famous diary was written while Anne and her family were hiding from the Nazi. Unfortunately, they were eventually discovered, and Anne and her mother were sent to concentration camps.

In a paragraph, you must identify what chivalry is. Based on the reading and light internet research, explain what it looked like in the past. Then explain whether or not chivalry still exists in today’s society.
Your paragraph must have at least five sentences: topic sentence (You must identify what chivalry is), body (explain what chivalry looked like in the past from the reading in edge and your light internet research and explain whether or not chivalry still exists today), and conclusion (provide a reflection on what it takes to be chivalrous).
In the past, Chivalry encompassed acts of bravery on the battlefield, acts of charity, and adherence to a moral code. In today's society, the concept of chivalry has evolved and its manifestations are subjective.
Chivalry: It is a code of conduct associated with medieval knighthood, characterized by virtues such as honor, bravery, loyalty, and respect for women.
In the past: chivalry was deeply rooted in the social fabric, where knights adhered to a strict set of rules and ideals. It involved protecting the weak, defending the honor of women, and displaying courteous and gentlemanly behavior.
In today's society: While the strict medieval code may no longer be prevalent, elements of chivalry can still be observed. Many individuals continue to exhibit acts of kindness, respect, and courtesy towards others, particularly in personal relationships and professional settings. However, the definition and interpretation of chivalry have become more fluid and personalized.
Conclusion: It is essential to note that the modern understanding of chivalry may differ among cultures and individuals. While some argue that chivalry is diminishing in the face of changing social dynamics, others believe that it has transformed and adapted to fit the contemporary context. Ultimately, being chivalrous in today's society requires individuals to embody qualities such as empathy, integrity, and respect, striving to make a positive impact on others and society as a whole.

Answer:
“Poppies” Summary
It was three days before the anniversary of the end of World War I, and people had already put poppies on the graves of people who died in the war. Before you went off, I pinned one of the poppies onto the front fold of your jacket, its red petals made of creased paper covering up the strip of yellow fabric that ran along the border of your suit jacket.
I wrapped some clear tape wrapped around my hand in order to pick as many white cat hairs off of you as I could, turned your shirt collar down, and stopped faced from looking too sad and emotional. I wanted to gently rub the tip of my nose against yours, pretending to give Eskimos kisses like we did when you were a small child. I wanted to run my fingers through your black, gelled curls, but I resisted. Everything I said came out wrong, like fabric coming apart.
But I was brave and walked with you to the front door, and even swung it open it for you. To you, the world outside seemed full of wonder and opportunity, like a treasure chest. You were gone in a fraction of a second, drunk with the possibilities. After you left, I went to your bedroom and released a singing bird from its cage. Later I saw a single dove fly out of a pear tree and I followed it here, along the walls of the churchyard. My stomach was rumbling with anxiety and I wasn't dressed for the cold weather—I didn't have a hat, warm coat, scarf, or gloves.
At the top of the hill, I traced the writing on the war monument with my fingers. I leaned against the monument, making it look like it and I were two halves of a wishbone (the forked bird bone that people snap and make wishes on at meals). The dove soared freely through the air, as if it were stitching decorative embroidery across the sky. And I listened, hoping to hear your voice coming up from the playground on the wind.
