Answer:
"First, the plesiosaur is an air breather." is the line from the article that best disproves the plesiosaur theory. In the article, the author argues that because plesiosaurs were air breathers, they would need to come up for air more frequently than any sightings ever occur. As there are so few "sightings" every year and supposedly fewer now than ever, it is unlikely that Nessie is a plesiosaur.

If an English newspaper prints a playful but hurtful piece about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump that is reprinted in American papers and it turns out that the newspaper had no malice toward the Hillary or Donald, but was just making fun of their politics, Hillary's and Donald's lawsuit would Upheld as defamatory against both plaintiffs Not defamatory since the laws of England and U.S. are different regarding defamation Not defamatory since both plaintiffs are public figures
The lawsuit would most likely not be upheld as defamatory against both plaintiffs because of two key reasons. First, the laws of England and the United States regarding defamation are different. Second, both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are considered public figures.
1. Different defamation laws: Defamation laws vary from country to country. In this scenario, the newspaper that printed the playful but hurtful piece is English, and the article was reprinted in American papers. The laws in England might have different requirements for proving defamation compared to the laws in the United States. Therefore, the case would be subject to the laws of the country where the lawsuit is filed.
2. Public figures: Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are public figures due to their involvement in politics. In general, public figures face a higher burden of proof when claiming defamation. They need to show that the defendant acted with "actual malice," meaning they knew the information was false or had reckless disregard for the truth. Given that the newspaper had no malice and was just making fun of their politics, it is less likely that the lawsuit would be upheld as defamatory against both plaintiffs.

Read the excerpt from "The Three Questions" by Leo Tolstoy.
All the answers being different, the King agreed with none of them, and gave the reward to none. But still wishing to find the right answers to his questions, he decided to consult a hermit, widely renowned for his wisdom.
The hermit lived in a wood which he never quitted, and he received none but common folk. So the King put on simple clothes, and before reaching the hermit's cell dismounted from his horse, and, leaving his body-guard behind, went on alone.
When the King approached, the hermit was digging the ground in front of his hut. Seeing the King, he greeted him and went on digging. The hermit was frail and weak, and each time he stuck his spade into the ground and turned a little earth, he breathed heavily.
The King went up to him and said: "I have come to you, wise hermit, to ask you to answer three questions: How can I learn to do the right thing at the right time? Who are the people I most need, and to whom should I, therefore, pay more attention than to the rest? And, what affairs are the most important, and need my first attention?"
The hermit listened to the King, but answered nothing. He just spat on his hand and recommenced digging.
"You are tired," said the King, "let me take the spade and work awhile for you."

From the passage, copy out (a) a simple sentence (b) a compound sentence (c) a complex sentence (d) a compound-complex sentence. 5. Find one synonym and one antonym each for the following words as they are used in the passage: (i) fanciful (ii) plausible (iii) sterile (iv) certainly (v) synthetic (vi) install
1. Punctuated version of the passage: I should start by admitting that as little as five years ago, carpeted classrooms would have seemed too fanciful and expensive. The carpeting then available would have been costly, difficult to maintain, and would have required frequent replacement.
Now, however, because of improved materials, the argument in favor of extensive carpeting seems a great deal more plausible. New indoor-outdoor synthetics, which are stain-resistant, fade-resistant, durable, and inexpensive, have made carpeting seem much less a luxury than a reasonable, even desirable, alternative to floor tiles.
There seem to be three central arguments in favor of carpeting. First, carpeting is attractive. Now admittedly, modern technology has developed a whole variety of attractive tiles, but even though tile may approach carpeting in terms of color, it still has a hard and unattractive texture.
Carpeting, on the other hand, is colorful, attractive to touch, and comfortable to walk on. It creates a wonderful atmosphere everyone would want to work in, both in and out of the classroom, and is the reason most people prefer to do their work sitting on the floor. Bright carpeting can easily make attractive an area that would otherwise seem spartan and sterile.
Pay a visit to the general office of the United Nations organization in Geneva to experience this. In short, carpeting is more attractive than tile to look at and walk on. The second argument in favor of carpeted classrooms is that carpeting serves a useful acoustical function.
Of course, the flexible backing and roughened texture of modern tiles make them far less noisy than those of just a few years ago. Both tiles and carpets have improved significantly. Carpeting, however, is a superior dampener of sound.
This process is laborious and slow and, in large institutions, requires expensive scrubbing machines. In short, tile costs less than carpeting to install, but if the cost of maintenance is considered, carpeting becomes an economic alternative to tile. Therefore, given the clear edge carpeting has over tile aesthetically and acoustically and given its apparent economic justification, carpeting for classrooms seems completely sensible.
2. Paragraphs:Paragraph 1: I should start by admitting that as little as five years ago, carpeted classrooms would have seemed too fanciful and expensive.
Paragraph 2: There seem to be three central arguments in favor of carpeting.
Paragraph 3: The second argument in favor of carpeted classrooms is that carpeting serves a useful acoustical function.
Paragraph 4: A final argument in favor of carpeting is that, over a period of time, carpeting is less expensive than tile.
Paragraph 5: In short, tile costs less than carpeting to install, but if the cost of maintenance is considered, carpeting becomes an economic alternative to tile.
Therefore, given the clear edge carpeting has over tile aesthetically and acoustically and given its apparent economic justification, carpeting for classrooms seems completely sensible. 3. Three topic sentences from the passage: First, carpeting is attractive. Second, carpeting serves a useful acoustical function. Third, over a period of time, carpeting is less expensive than tile.
4. Examples of different sentence types: a. Simple sentence: The carpeting then available would have been costly, difficult to maintain, and would have required frequent replacement.
b. Compound sentence: New indoor-outdoor synthetics, which are stain-resistant, fade-resistant, durable, and inexpensive, have made carpeting seem much less a luxury than a reasonable, even desirable, alternative to floor tiles, and carpeting is more attractive than tile to look at and walk on.
c. Complex sentence: In short, tile costs less than carpeting to install, but if the cost of maintenance is considered, carpeting becomes an economic alternative to tile.
d. Compound-complex sentence: A final argument in favor of carpeting is that, over a period of time, carpeting is less expensive than tile, and the new synthetic carpets resist stains and fading, so an ordinary vacuum cleaner will keep them in shape, but the tiled floor, unfortunately, needs frequent scrubbing and waxing if it is not to look dull and yellow with accumulated wax, and this process is laborious and slow and, in large institutions, requires expensive scrubbing machines.

You may think recycled or used goods are just trash, but what we perceive as trash can be something beautiful to another. Sculptresses, fashion designers, and collectors bring the meaning of trash, which can turn and make things that you probably think would be impossible. Everyday someone else's thrown away item becomes something much more, just like it can be used to make art utensils and products.
As said earlier there are unique ways of art. In source 2, an artist named Andy Goldsworthy started out with tools nearby. It stated,”You don’t need paint or paper to make art: in fact, Earth Artist Andy Goldsworthy started out with a simple rule: he would work outside and only use materials he could find nearby.” When art was first created there were questions on what utensils to use, and the types of materials that are used to make it. Jennifer Renée Caden Merdjan said “Back then an artist like Marcel Duchamp questioned what is art and what materials can be used.”
Using recycled materials for the art utensils can also help with the economy. “humble or recycled materials and the contest seemed ideal for an environmentally friendly project.” Artists use recycled or reused objects to make attractive pieces of contemporary art and literally turn everyday trash into creative treasures. A very famous Artist once said, “Installation Art is good for the environment because it takes everyday objects and transforms it into a valuable artwork.”
Using recycled material and junk for art would cut down on plastic waste dumped into the sea, loss of marine life due to chemicals from waste products and harmful diseases. “This project allowed my class to design something of their choice, using a material of their choice and raise environmental awareness at the same time.” Awareness while learning ways of art are both two good things to learn. Using recycled materials is also a challenge and to learn new things, which would make a good contest to do. “The contest challenge was to create outrageous art from unconventional materials.” would be an example for it.
In conclusion Artists use recycled or reused objects to make attractive pieces of contemporary art and literally turn everyday trash into creative treasures. Which is something everybody can do and doing this could prevent any of the junk ending up in horrible places like the sea which endanger sea animals.

Maya collected facts about Mr. Nath. Do you think those facts are sufficient to call him a crook on the run? If so, write any two facts that proves her right.
From the lesson Expert Dectectives
The facts collect by Maya about Mr. Nath are not sufficient to call him a crook on the run, since they not only prove nothing but can be easily explained.
What are facts?Facts are pieces of information that can be proven to be true. In the story, Maya collects facts about Mr Nath, such as the following:
His last name is Nath, but she does not know his first name.He does not have any visitors, except for one person on Sundays. He pays cash for his meals and tips the person that brings them.He does not receive any letters.People say he is a strange man. With those simple facts, Maya concludes that Mr. Nath is a crook on the run. In other words, she thinks he is a criminal who is hiding. However, those facts are not enough to prove any of that. All they show is that he lives a quiet, lonely life, and that he is not a sociable man. They may be easily explained if he has, for example, lost his family members.
Therefore, it is our conclusion that none of the facts found by Maya is enough to prove Mr. Nath is a crook.
