Answer:
Its E Strengthen an assertion by broadening its implications 100%
Explanation:
In these lines, the author uses repetition to organize two assertions about the “things” that children are taught. She first asserts that these “things” have so little relevance that children will quickly forget them. She then broadens this assertion to apply to teachers, stating that they too would forget these “things” if they were not constantly repeating them on the job. By arranging these ideas in this way, the author strengthens her initial assertion about the reason that children have trouble remembering and supports her overarching claim that it is “reasonable” for children to protest that they cannot retain what they are expected to learn.

An expository essay on comparison and contrasting of what motivated to take action or make a decision:When faced with a decision or action that requires taking initiative, it can be difficult to know where to start. Great comic art is never otherwordly, it does not seek to mystify us, and it does not deny ambiguity by branding as evil whatever differs from good. Great comic artists assume that truth may bear all lights, and thus they seek to accentuate contradictions in social action, not gloss over or transcend them by appeals to extrasocial symbols of divine ends, cosmic purpose, or laws of nature. The moment of transcendence in great comic art is a social moment, born out of the conviction that we are human, even though we try to be gods. The comic community to which artists address themselves is a community of reasoning, loving, joyful, compassionate beings, who are willing to assume the human risks of acting rationally. Without invoking gods or demons, great comic art arouses courage in reason, courage which grows out of trust in what human beings can do as humans.
The passage suggests that great comic art can be characterized as optimistic about the ability of humans to:___________.
(A) rid themselves of pride
(B) transcend the human condition
(C) differentiate clearly between good and evil
(D) avoid social conflicts
(E) act rationally
Answer:
The passage suggests that great comic art can be characterized as optimistic about the ability of humans to:
(E) act rationally
Explanation:
Take a look at this sentence from the passage:
"The comic community to which artists address themselves is a community of reasoning, [...] who are willing to assume the human risks of acting rationally."
According to the author, comic art and artists are optimistic that human beings can act rationally, that they truly have the ability and trust to reason. Even though we like to think or ourselves as gods - infallible, all-knowing, divine -, comic art is able to see through this façade. The façade prevents us from reasoning, from recognizing our nature, but comic art rescues us from that lie.

It was the second semester of my fourth-grade year. My parents had recently bought a new house in a nice quiet neighborhood. I was ecstatic I always wanted to move to a new house. I was tired of my old home since I had already explored every corner, nook, and cranny. The moment I realized I would have to leave my old friends behind was one of the most devastating moments of my life. I didn’t want to switch schools and make new friends. Yet at the same time was an interesting new experience.
It was finally the first day of school; I was excited yet nervous. I hoped I would be able to make new friends. The first time I saw the school's name I thought it was the strangest name I’ve ever heard or read, therefore I found it hard to pronounce it in the beginning. The schools’ floors had painted black paw prints, which stood out on the white tiled floor. Once you walk through the doors the office is to the right. Introduce yourself. Tell the audience your name, even if they most likely already know it. Indicate your grade level and what school activities in which you participate as well as any other tidbits you find appropriate for giving your classmates a glimpse of your character. Discuss the key influences on supply and demand in the shipping
market model.[18 marks]
(maritime economics)
The key influences on supply and demand in the shipping market model are freight rates, global economic conditions, and regulatory policies.
Freight rates play a crucial role in influencing supply and demand in the shipping market model. When freight rates are high, it incentivizes shipping companies to increase their supply of vessels, leading to an increase in shipping capacity. Conversely, when freight rates are low, shipping companies may reduce their supply of vessels to avoid losses, resulting in decreased shipping capacity. This relationship between freight rates and supply helps to balance the market based on demand and profitability.
Global economic conditions also significantly impact supply and demand in the shipping market. During periods of economic growth, there is typically an increase in international trade and consumer demand for goods, leading to higher demand for shipping services. Conversely, during economic downturns, demand may decrease as trade volumes decline. Factors such as GDP growth, consumer spending, and business investments directly influence the demand for shipping services.
Regulatory policies can exert substantial influence on supply and demand in the shipping market. Policies related to environmental regulations, safety standards, and trade agreements can impact the operational costs, efficiency, and competitiveness of shipping companies. For instance, stricter emission regulations may require companies to invest in cleaner technologies, increasing their operating costs. Similarly, trade agreements can open up new markets and increase demand for shipping services.

how did augustine's faith lead him to view his childhood?
Augustine felt sinful from birth, and this sin ruled his childhood. He believes in original sin, which all humans inherited from Adam, the first man.
Augustine does not believe in the idyllic notions of childhood innocence. Augustine emphasizes that God did not create sin; sin is the responsibility of humanity.
Augustine's views on original sin are complicated, and the subject is not addressed directly in the Confessions. During Augustine's childhood, he learned that a word indicated a specific thing by observing how adults used words and using his memory.
Augustine strongly opposes the practice of postponing baptism, believing that it would have been better to bring him to God's salvation rather than to allow him to continue sinning because he was young. Baptism would not have prevented him from sin, but for Augustine, sin forgiveness is not a one-time, all-or-nothing event.

He Had His Dream
by Paul Laurence Dunbar
Next
He had his dream, and all through life,
Worked up to it through toil and strife.
Afloat fore'er before his eyes,
It colored for him all his skies:
The storm-cloud dark
Above his bark,
The calm and listless vault of blue
Took on its hopeful hue,
It tinctured every passing beam-
He had his dream.
He labored hard and failed at last,
His sails too weak to bear the blast,
The raging tempests tore away
And sent his beating bark astray.
But what cared hel
For wind or sea!
He said, "The tempest will be short,
My bark will come to port."
He saw through every cloud a gleam-
He had his dream.
