What is helping verb?
A helping verb, also known as an auxiliary verb, is a verb that is used in combination with the main verb of a sentence to express a grammatical function such as tense, voice, mood, aspect, or emphasis. Helping verbs are used to form verb phrases, which help to convey the meaning of the sentence more precisely.
Common helping verbs in English include "be," "do," and "have," as well as modal verbs such as "can," "could," "may," "might," "must," "shall," "should," "will," and "would." For example, in the sentence "I am running," the helping verb "am" is used with the main verb "running" to express the present continuous tense. In the sentence "She will have finished her work by 5 pm," the helping verbs "will" and "have" are used with the main verb "finished" to express the future perfect tense.

How did Benjamin react to his brother’s confinement?
100 POINTS!!!!Read this excerpt from Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll.
So the two brothers went off hand-in-hand into the wood, and returned in a minute with their arms full of things—such as bolsters, blankets, hearth-rugs, table-cloths, dish-covers and coal-scuttles. “I hope you're a good hand at pinning and tying strings?” Tweedledum remarked. “Every one of these things has got to go on, somehow or other.”
Alice said afterwards she had never seen such a fuss made about anything in all her life—the way those two bustled about—and the quantity of things they put on—and the trouble they gave her in tying strings and fastening buttons—“Really they'll be more like bundles of old clothes than anything else, by the time they're ready!” she said to herself, as she arranged a bolster round the neck of Tweedledee, “to keep his head from being cut off,” as he said.
“You know,” he added very gravely, “it's one of the most serious things that can possibly happen to one in a battle—to get one's head cut off.”
The details of this excerpt support the idea that Tweedledee and Tweedledum
1.can help Alice in her quest.
2.are very knowledgeable.

AP Literature Open Essay Prompt from 1994 (submitted by a tutor to show sample English essay)In some works of literature, a character who appears briefly, or does not appear at all, is a significant presence. Choose a novel or play of literary merit and write an essay in which you show how such a character functions in the work. You may wish to discuss how the character affects action, theme, or the development of other characters. Avoid plot summary.
Gatsby is not present in many scenes in the novel, he has a significant influence on the other characters and themes of the book.
One of the greatest American novels, The Great Gatsby, written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, has an integral character who is barely present throughout the novel, yet still manages to leave a deep impression upon the reader.
The character Jay Gatsby is an individual who epitomizes the "American Dream" - a self-made man who has acquired a tremendous amount of wealth and has been elevated to the upper echelons of society through his own hard work and dedication.
He has become a legend in his own time because of the wild and extravagant parties he throws at his luxurious mansion, which are attended by the rich and famous from all around.
The character's role in the book is to embody the idea of the American Dream and show the flaws of this concept.
His efforts to recreate the past and reunite with his lost love, Daisy, demonstrate the theme of the impossibility of recapturing the past.
The fact that Gatsby was not born rich also signifies the idea that wealth can not buy happiness nor love.
The narrator of the book, Nick Carraway, who is Daisy's cousin and the person through whom the story is being told, is deeply affected by Gatsby's character.
Through their interactions, Nick realizes the emptiness of the American Dream and the corruption that it brings.
In conclusion, even though Gatsby is not present in many scenes in the novel, he has a significant influence on the other characters and themes of the book.

A gaseous fuel with a volumetric analysis of 60% C2H6 and 40% H2 is burned to completion. i) Determine the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, on a molar basis of the combustion.
ii) Perform a wet analysis of the products if the gas is burned with 120 percent theoretical air.
Step 1:
The stoichiometric air-fuel ratio for the combustion of the gaseous fuel is 14.4 on a molar basis.
Step 2:
When determining the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, we need to consider the balanced chemical equation for the combustion of the gaseous fuel. In this case, the volumetric analysis tells us that the fuel consists of 60% C2H6 (ethane) and 40% H2 (hydrogen gas). To calculate the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, we need to find the molar ratio of the fuel components in the balanced equation.
For ethane (C2H6):
C2H6 + 7.5(O2 + 3.76N2) → 2CO2 + 3H2O + 7.5(3.76N2)
For hydrogen (H2):
2H2 + 7.5(O2 + 3.76N2) → 2H2O + 7.5(3.76N2)
From the equations, we can see that for every 1 mol of C2H6 or 1 mol of H2, we need 7.5 mol of O2 and 28.2 mol of N2 (since air contains approximately 79% nitrogen, 21% oxygen). Therefore, the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio is given by:
Stoichiometric air-fuel ratio = (7.5 mol O2 + 28.2 mol N2) / (1 mol C2H6 + 1 mol H2) = 14.4
Step 3:
To ensure complete combustion of the gaseous fuel, a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio of 14.4 is required. This means that for every mole of ethane or hydrogen in the fuel mixture, we need 14.4 moles of air containing the necessary oxygen and nitrogen. This ratio ensures that all the carbon and hydrogen in the fuel react fully with the available oxygen, resulting in the complete conversion of the fuel to carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O).
Using 120% of the theoretical air (which means 20% excess air), we can perform a wet analysis of the products. Excess air helps ensure complete combustion by providing additional oxygen. The wet analysis involves determining the composition of the exhaust gases, particularly the levels of carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor (H2O), and any remaining unreacted oxygen (O2). These measurements are important in assessing the efficiency and environmental impact of the combustion process.

Paragraph 13 discusses an examination of Thomas. Why might scientists have decided to study Thomas? How do their findings illustrate the author's central idea about the role of genes in sports?
Scientists decided to study Thomas because he had an impressive jumping ability in basketball games that weren't developed with training.
These ideas show that the author believes that genetics has a great responsibility in the good performance of athletes.
How did Thomas stand out?He could make impressive leaps. He jumped better than professional basketball players. His ability was genetic and not stimulated by training.Although Thomas was drafted into a basketball team, his ability to jump was noticed before that. This ability was the result of a highly developed Achilles tension, which made Thomas' feet easier to jump.
This was something that Thomas received genetically, which reinforces that athletes' good performance can be, in part, caused by genetics, in addition to training.

Both "The Elevator" and the short film have similar plots because in the first paragraph of "The Elevator", Sleator identifies an old-building (probably a high-rise) with a small elevator described as ominous and in the short film the lady is in the apartment building heading to a small elevator where most of the major events take place and a lot is revealed about the characters primarily the antagonists and protagonists like in the short film. Eventually in the "Elevator", the fat lady is introduced when she gets on the elevator on the fourteenth floor. She wears a green coat and dirty sneakers . She is so large she fills the elevator by herself. She stares directly at martin. In the short film, towards the end of the film, a person which looks to be a man with a white covering on his head is seen to be starting at the lady in the elevator only seperated by the elevator door. A way these moments in the "Elevator" and the short film is because both the girl and Martin have similar encounters with the believed antagonists. Due to the fat lady's weird behavior, Martin develops a fear of her. He frantically tries to figure out who she is and why she is in the building, which is similar to one of the final scenes in the short film when the lady encounters the person with the white convering over their face, both Martin and the girl are trying to figure out who these people are and what their intentions are with them because both the mysterious person/figure and the fat lady are acting strangely during the encounters with the protagonists. In their next encounter with each other, the fat lady gets on third floor and goes up to the eighteenth. Martin can't figure out why. He worries what might happen if the elevator got stuck. He wants to get off but thinks he can't get past her, which is similar to the scene where the lady frantically tries pressing the button to get the elevator doors to shut so she can escape the mysterious figure but can't do it because the elevator isn't functioning when she does it. Finally for their last encounter in the story also known as "The Elevator", the fat lady meets him next time on his floor, so Martin decided to take the stairs where he ends up falling and fracturing his leg forcing him to have to take the elevator, this is similar to a scene in the short film where due to the elevator doors not closing when the girl tries to press the button to get the doors to close, the girl must face the mysterious figure and is forced to deal with the situation, it's like facing danger directly. The climax in the story "The Elevator" is when Martin and his father get home and Martin rides the elevator with his father until his father gets off at the ninth floor, then the fat lady gets on at the tenth floor, she then calls him by name and presses the STOP button, in the short film, the lady ends up facing the mysterious figure which is where the film ends and what happens next was left a mystery and for the viewer to guess.

the word unhappiness has ____ bound morphemes and ____ free morphemes.
The word unhappiness has 2 bound morphemes and 1 free morphemes.
The smallest meaningful component of a linguistic expression is called a morpheme.
Morphology is the name of the area of linguistic study that focuses on morphemes. Morphemes are frequently but not always words in the English language. The morpheme "cat" is an example of a root morpheme. Other morphemes, known as affixes, are only encountered in conjunction with other morphemes. For instance, the suffix "-s" in the word "cats" denotes the idea of plurality, but it is always tied to another idea to denote a particular form of plurality. This distinction is not always applicable and does not hold true for languages like Latin, where several roots are interdependent. For instance, the Latin suffix rex (reg-s), reg-is, reg-i, etc., must always be followed by a case indicator.
