In the conceptual framework for financial reporting, what provides the why--the purpose of accounting?.

Answers

Answer 1

In the conceptual framework for financial reporting, the objective of financial reporting provides the why—the purpose of accounting. The objective is to provide financial information about an entity that is useful to a wide range of users in making decisions about providing resources to the entity.

Such decisions involve making a range of investment, credit, and other resource allocation decisions. The information should be relevant, reliable, comparable, and understandable. The objective focuses on the general nature of the information to be provided and therefore does not address the content of specific elements of financial statements. The objective specifies that the information be useful to the users in assessing amounts, timing, and uncertainty of the entity's future cash flows. The objective therefore provides guidance for both the content and the presentation of financial statements, as well as for the development of future accounting standards.

According to efficiency-wage theories, firms benefit by paying higher-than-equilibrium wages because worker _____ increases.

Answers

According to efficiency-wage theories, firms benefit by paying higher-than-equilibrium wages because worker productivity increases.

This increase in productivity can be attributed to a number of factors, such as increased motivation and morale, reduced turnover rates, and improved quality of work. By paying higher wages, firms are able to attract and retain higher-quality workers, who in turn are more productive and contribute more to the firm's overall success. This theory suggests that firms can actually save money in the long run by paying higher wages, as the benefits of increased productivity and reduced turnover outweigh the costs of higher wages. Ultimately, efficiency-wage theories provide a compelling argument for why firms should consider paying higher wages in order to achieve better business outcomes.

if the promise to pay gas money had been made before the trip was made
if tanner had driven corey to the airport in the past
if corey, upon arrival, had promised to pay gas money to tanner whenever he could
if tanner was contracted to drive corey to the airport as a duty

Answers

The condition that would have made the contract between Corey and Tanner enforceable is if Tanner was contracted to drive Corey to the airport as a duty.

There would be a legally binding agreement between the two parties, specifying the terms and conditions of the service provided. For a contract to be enforceable, there must be a mutual agreement between the parties involved. In this case, if Corey and Tanner had agreed on the payment of gas money before the trip, it would demonstrate mutual consent and the intention to enter into a contractual arrangement. This would satisfy the requirement of mutual agreement and would make the contract enforceable. The other options do not fulfill the necessary conditions for an enforceable contract. The past actions or promises made after the trip do not establish a clear agreement or consideration between Corey and Tanner. Additionally, driving someone to the airport as a duty does not automatically create a contractual obligation for payment. Therefore, the condition where the promise to pay gas money was made before the trip would make the contract enforceable between Corey and Tanner.

true or false? a major limitation of advertising over publicity is that advertising has credibility issues.

Answers

False. A major limitation of advertising compared to publicity is not necessarily credibility issues.

While it's true that advertising messages are controlled by the advertiser and may be perceived as biased or less credible by some consumers, it doesn't imply that advertising as a whole has credibility issues.

Publicity, on the other hand, refers to the attention and coverage received through non-paid media channels, such as news articles, press releases, and word-of-mouth. It is often seen as more credible because it is generated by third-party sources and not directly controlled by the company.

However, it's important to note that both advertising and publicity have their own strengths and limitations. Advertising allows companies to have more control over their message and reach a targeted audience, while publicity can provide more unbiased information and leverage the credibility of media outlets. The effectiveness and credibility of advertising or publicity depend on various factors, including the specific context, audience, and execution.

b) the monthly sales revenue if the selling price is increased to £30 per dog
c) the change in monthly sales revenue if the business increases its prices from £28 to £30 per dog

To calculate the monthly sales revenue and the change in monthly sales revenue, we can use the formula: Sales Revenue = Selling Price × Quantity.

a) The monthly sales revenue if the selling price remains at £28 per dog is:

Sales Revenue = £28 × 110 = £3080

Tina sells cookie what is Tina’s ROI

Answers

Tina's ROE, based on the production cost and the selling price can be found to be 57 %.

How to find the ROE ?

ROI is a financial metric that measures the profitability of an investment relative to its cost. It is typically calculated as a percentage, using the following formula:

ROI = (Gains from Investment - Cost of Investment) / Cost of Investment

In this case, the gains from investment would be the total revenue from selling cookies, and the cost of investment would be the expenses associated with producing and selling the cookies.

For Tina, the ROE would therefore be:

= ( ( 12 - 7. 65) ) / 7. 65

= 57 %
