Elizabeth Proctor, in Arthur Miller's play "The Crucible," faces a significant moral dilemma. Throughout the story, Elizabeth grapples with the decision whether to lie to protect her husband, John Proctor. She also struggles with the decision to uphold her integrity and speak the truth.
The moral dilemma Elizabeth faces arises when she is brought to court and questioned about her husband's affair with Abigail Williams. Elizabeth finds herself torn between her love for John and honesty. In Act II, Elizabeth knows John confessed to his infidelity, but she is uncertain whether he will reveal it publicly. When asked about John's affair in court, she hesitates and denies it, believing she protects him. This creates a moral conflict within her, as she knows lying is against her beliefs and values.
Evidence from the text supports Elizabeth's moral dilemma. In Act III, when asked if John committed adultery, she responds, "No, sir" (Miller 92). Her hesitation before answering and realization of the weight of her response indicates her internal struggle. Elizabeth's decision to lie stems from her love for John and fear of damaging his reputation. However, she knows the moral implications of her actions.
Elizabeth's moral dilemma is further highlighted when she learns that John already confessed to the affair, rendering her lie unnecessary. In Act IV, Elizabeth confronts John about this, admitting her wrongdoing and acknowledging her inner turmoil. She says, "I thought you'd come to pray, John... It does nothing to give false testimony" (Miller 133). Elizabeth realizes the moral consequences of her actions and expresses remorse for her initial decision.
In conclusion, Elizabeth Proctor's moral dilemma revolves around the choice between lying to protect her husband or remaining true to her values. Her internal struggle is evident through her hesitation and eventual denial of John's affair in court. However, she later regretted her decision when she discovered that John confessed. Elizabeth's character represents human morality and the difficult choices individuals face when confronted with challenging situations.

Both are good examples of devices you can you when you draft your poem. We cannot write the whole poem for you here, but we can exemplify a few lines using those devices to help you. These lines are a description of summer. Take a look below:
"The soft song of singing cicadas (alliteration)After the rain, the gentle sun that kisses the emerald green (personification)
Of the grass that stretches over the hills
Is summer incarnated, alive"
The alliteration above consists of the repetition of the "s" sound in four words - notice that in "cicada," the "s" sound appears in the form of the letter "c". After 5 generations, vou switch the fruit flies to Special Laboratory Diet B When the fruit flies are fed Special Laboratory Diet B_ RR individuals are reddish and leave on average 25 offspring RB individuals are purple and leave on average 75 offspring, and BB individuals are bluish and leave on average 50 offspring each: For each generation_ the population is randomly reduced size of 500 individuals. Under these conditions, the population experiences no mutations; no emigration, there is no mate choice, and it is relatively large. 11) What is the relative fitness of the RR genotype? 12) What is the relative fitness of the RB genotype? 13) What is the relative fitness of the BB genotype? 14) What is the selection coefficient associated with the RR genotype? 15) What is the selection coefficient associated with the RB genotype? 16) What is the selection coefficient associated with the BB genotype? 17) Is the population in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium?'
The relative fitness of RR genotype = 25 / 75 = 0.33, relative fitness of the RB genotype is 1 (75 / 75), BB genotype is 50 / 75 = 0.67, selection coefficient (s) associated with the RR genotype is 0.67, selection coefficient associated with the RB genotype is s = 1 - 1 = 0, The selection coefficient associated with the BB genotype is s = 1 - 0.67 = 0.33.
The population is not in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium because there is differential reproductive success (selection) among the genotypes, which is one of the conditions that must be met for a population to be in equilibrium.
The relative fitness of the RR genotype is calculated by dividing the average offspring of RR individuals (25) by the highest number of average offspring among the genotypes. In this case, it is RB with 75 offspring. So, the relative fitness of RR genotype = 25 / 75 = 0.33.
The relative fitness of the RB genotype is calculated in the same manner. Since RB has the highest number of average offspring, its relative fitness is 1 (75 / 75).
The relative fitness of the BB genotype is calculated by dividing the average offspring of BB individuals (50) by the highest number of average offspring (75). So, the relative fitness of BB genotype = 50 / 75 = 0.67.
The selection coefficient (s) associated with the RR genotype is calculated as s = 1 - the relative fitness of RR. So, s = 1 - 0.33 = 0.67.
The selection coefficient associated with the RB genotype is s = 1 - the relative fitness of RB. So, s = 1 - 1 = 0.
The selection coefficient associated with the BB genotype is s = 1 - the relative fitness of BB. So, s = 1 - 0.67 = 0.33.

Field Trips: Oregon Trail
Field trips are supposed to be educational right? So why don't we have more of
them? The Oregon Trail would be a fascinating experience because of all the history
behind it.
It is a trail that starts in the middle Eastern United States and goes all of the way
to Oregon. People who were on the trail had to be ready to defend themselves at any
given moment. Most of the women walked because their covered wagons were full of
supplies, or someone was lying in it because they were ill.
My great, great, great grandmother was one of the women to travel along the
Oregon Trail. She carried around with her a lever action 22 rifle because she never
knew when it would come in handy.
You see, the Oregon Trail is a part of our history; not just the United States
history, but Oregon's history as well. We should be proud of where we live and thankful
for all of the technology that we have. Honestly, I would hate to walk all day over rocky
and uneven ground, then get up the next day and do it all over again, but the people
were determined to get somewhere where they could start fresh. They were so
determined that they kept on walking day after day into the unknown.
The schools should make field trips possible. Going to historical landmarks and
learning about them and how they were established is something that has always
intrigued me. Everyone should be able to share and experience the same feeling about
history

an application of which colors would help rid a client of unwanted orange tones?
To rid a client's hair of unwanted orange tones, the most effective color application would be a blue-based toner or color.
Blue is the complementary color to orange, so when a blue-based color is applied to orange hair, it neutralizes the orange tones and helps to balance the overall hair color.
The specific shade of blue used will depend on the level and intensity of the orange tones in the hair. For example, a light blue or silver toner may be used on lighter orange tones, while a deeper, navy blue may be used on darker orange tones.
It's important to note that toners are typically used on pre-lightened hair, as they do not lighten the hair but rather add color to the existing hair. If the client's hair is not pre-lightened, a professional colorist may recommend a color correction process that involves lightening the hair to a desired level and then toning to remove any unwanted orange tones.
Overall, a blue-based toner or color is the most effective application to rid a client's hair of unwanted orange tones and achieve a more neutral, balanced hair color.
