Answers

Answer 1

The slave trade flourished especially in West Africa/region of Sub-Sahara Africa. These course of events started in the 15 century and became more popular along the way, until reaching its peak during the 17th century. before the exploiting of Africans, we must understand why them? Before the 15th century there was still slavery but the slaves were white Slovakians or Muslims captured by European christen nations. Though when Columbus reached the New World(Americas). Then Spain started conquering the land from the American civilizations, Azteks, Mayans, and the Incans were colonized by the Spanish conquistadors. Disease spread from the whiteness's cattle that they brought killing 90% of the total American population. These disease were effective because of the Americans lack of immunity. While this happened the Spanish built huge cash crop plantations such as sugar and tobacco. Due to a low populations, there was not enough workers. So the Spanish established a Trans Atlantic Slave deal with the tribes and many city states of Africa. So the African leaders would allow the Whiteman to gather the slaves they needed from there people, mostly young African men in exchange for wealth. It is important to note that although the West African city states were first happy later on because of the shortage of young healthy men, there society fell. This picture that shows the Africans being carried to the shores of Africa, where they will be taken onboard a slave ship where its destination is unmown to the salves. 10% to 20% of slaves died during the trip because of a lack of nutrient,  starvation, and dehydration. Where ever these African men went may it be a American Plantation or the shores of Britain, they would have been auctioned off to there white slave owners in a society that is systematically racist.

Describe a means of transportation and a point-to-point travel route with which you are familiar. Use this route to explain the difference between and the meaning of the following terms: distance, displacement, speed, velocity, and acceleration.

Answers

A car is a means of transportation with which I am familiar. I'll use the point-to-point route between my home and my school. Distance refers to the total length covered by an object. It is a scalar quantity and is represented by 'd.' In this case, the distance between my home and my school is 5 miles.

Displacement, on the other hand, is a vector quantity that represents the total length between the final and initial points. Displacement is represented by 'd.' In this case, the displacement between my home and my school is 5 miles because we traveled directly from home to school without making any detours.Speed is a scalar quantity that describes the rate at which an object travels over a certain distance. Speed is given by the formula speed = distance/time. In this case, the speed at which we traveled to school was 25 miles/hour since we covered 5 miles in 12 minutes.

Velocity is a vector quantity that represents the rate at which an object changes its position with respect to time in a specific direction. Velocity is represented by 'v.' Since we know the displacement and the time taken, we can calculate velocity by using the formula velocity = displacement/time. The velocity between my home and school is 25 miles/hour because we traveled 5 miles in 12 minutes.Acceleration refers to the rate of change of velocity over time. It is also a vector quantity represented by 'a.' If the velocity of the car was changing while driving to school, we would need to calculate the acceleration. However, since the velocity was constant throughout the journey, the acceleration was zero.

Ivan does not believe that the suffering of innocents can ever be justified by the benefits of order and justice. Ivan tells Alyosha that a world that is ruled by a just God cannot tolerate children’s suffering. Ivan rejects the notion that suffering is the cost of free will because the cost of children’s suffering is far too great. The positive psychology movement is a strength-based, preventive approach to health behaviour research and intervention. This means that it focuses on identifying and promoting the strengths and positive qualities that individuals possess, rather than solely addressing problems or weaknesses.

The positive psychology movement also emphasizes the importance of prevention, rather than solely focusing on treating problems after they have occurred.

The positive psychology movement is not exclusively focused on tertiary prevention, which involves reducing the negative impact of an already established problem.

Rather, it emphasizes primary prevention, which involves preventing problems from occurring in the first place, and secondary prevention, which involves early detection and intervention to prevent problems from worsening.

The positive psychology movement is endorsed by the American Psychological Association, which has recognized it as an important area of research and practice. The APA has established a division dedicated to positive psychology, which promotes research, education, and the application of positive psychology principles.

Finally, the positive psychology movement does not maintain that adversity only rarely yields benefits. Rather, it recognizes that adversity can lead to personal growth and positive outcomes, and it seeks to understand the factors that promote resilience and well-being in the face of adversity.

What does the development of a child depend more on?

Professionals in the field of child development have long engaged in a nature vs. nurture argument. Nature refers to a person's genetic makeup or biological make-up, whereas nurture refers to the external environment that shapes nature.

Some theorists emphasize "stability," while others place more emphasis on "plasticity." This argument, however, is no longer relevant. Grice's maxims of quality, quantity, relation, and manner are thought to apply to all forms of human communication across all languages and cultures. Discuss if these maxims apply to Vietnamese? Use examples of real language in use from your daily life and include a translation.

Answers

Grice's maxims of quality, quantity, relation, and manner are principles that aim to guide effective communication and promote understanding in various contexts. While these maxims are often considered applicable to human communication across different languages and cultures, it's important to note that their specific manifestations and interpretations can vary to some extent.

Maxim of Quality:

In Vietnamese communication, people generally strive for truthfulness and accuracy. For example:

English: "Did you finish the report?"

Vietnamese translation: "Bạn đã hoàn thành báo cáo chưa?"

In this exchange, the expectation is that the speaker provides an honest and accurate response about whether the report has been completed.

Maxim of Quantity:

The maxim of quantity suggests that we should provide sufficient information without being overly verbose or lacking necessary details. Vietnamese communication often adheres to this principle. For instance:

Vietnamese translation: "Bạn có thể chỉ dẫn đường đi đến bưu điện gần nhất được không?"

In this example, the speaker expects the listener to provide concise and relevant directions to the nearest post office, without unnecessary elaboration.

Maxim of Relation:

The maxim of relation emphasizes that our contributions to a conversation should be relevant and connected to the topic at hand. Vietnamese communication follows this maxim in order to maintain coherence and clarity. Here's an example:

In this case, the speaker expects the listener to provide opinions or insights specifically related to the new company policy, staying on topic.

Maxim of Manner:

The maxim of manner suggests that we should communicate in a clear, organized, and coherent manner. Vietnamese communication also values these qualities to ensure effective understanding. Here's an example:

English: "Could you explain the steps to use this software?"

In this exchange, the speaker expects the listener to provide a clear and well-organized explanation of the steps involved in using the software.

While these examples demonstrate how Grice's maxims can be applied in Vietnamese communication, it's important to note that communication styles and norms can vary between individuals and contexts. Additionally, cultural factors may influence the interpretation and expression of these maxims. Therefore, it's crucial to consider the specific cultural and linguistic context when analyzing communication patterns in any language, including Vietnamese.
