Public testing is a way that the school districts can rate the learning progress their students are learning, how ever if the test in is for state testing it is to compare the state testing scores against the other states.

Under the influence of the Protestant (Christian) tradition, developed first in Western Europe, altered states of consciousness were generally considered to be negative or even sinful.
In the Protestant tradition, altered states of consciousness were often associated with pagan or mystical practices, which were viewed as incompatible with Christian values. The emphasis was on rationality, sobriety, and self-control, and altered states of consciousness were seen as a threat to these values. Practices like meditation, prayer, and fasting were seen as acceptable ways of achieving spiritual growth, but practices like drug use, ecstatic dancing, or speaking in tongues were often seen as dangerous or even demonic. However, it is important to note that not all Protestant traditions have the same views on altered states of consciousness, and some have even incorporated practices like meditation or contemplative prayer into their religious practices. Additionally, there are many Christians outside of the Protestant tradition who have different views on altered states of consciousness, with some even seeing them as a means of connecting with the divine.

A fixed asset with a cost of $28,469 and accumulated depreciation of $25,622 is traded for a similar asset priced at $60,438 (fair market value) in a transaction with commercial substance. Assuming a trade-in allowance of $4,505, at what cost will the new equipment be recorded in the books
The new equipment will be recorded in the books at a cost of $55,933.
To determine the cost at which the new equipment will be recorded in the books, we need to calculate the amount of cash or equivalent that was exchanged in the transaction.
The cost of the new equipment is the fair market value of $60,438 minus the trade-in allowance of $4,505.
Cost of new equipment = Fair market value - Trade-in allowance
Cost of new equipment = $60,438 - $4,505

Explain the move from the single-melody chant to multiple melodies sung or played at the same time (polyphony). describe the stages of this development. do you think that some radical monk started this movement?
explain why you think this move to polyphony was such a giant step in music history. your opinion is valuable. please expand on what you read in this lesson. paraphrase the process and refer to the listening examples to help support the points you are making in this assignment.
The shift from single-melody chant to polyphony involved the development of multiple melodies sung or played simultaneously. This advancement revolutionized music, allowing for greater complexity and artistic expression.
In music history, polyphony as opposed to single melody chant was a significant development. It involved the emergence of multiple melodies that could be sung or played at once, enhancing musical complexity and expression. This development happened in stages, starting with the addition of the organum, a second voice to Gregorian chant.
It eventually resulted in the composition of distinct melodic lines in early polyphony and further developed into discant where voices moved independently. Polyphonic techniques were developed and expanded by composers like Palestrina and Josquin des Prez during the Renaissance.
Instead of being started by a radical monk, the transition to polyphony took place over time through the combined efforts of many musicians and composers. By enabling composers to combine various melodies, harmonies and rhythms, it revolutionized music and paved the way for musical notation systems and the preservation of compositions. It also enhanced artistic expression. In the end, polyphony continues to be a significant turning point in music history influencing the development of Western classical music and adding to its richness and diversity.

To what degree do you agree with this statement,
"Without the French and Indian War the American Revolution would
have never happened?
It would be inaccurate to claim that the American Revolution would have never happened without the French and Indian War. The war certainly had an impact, but the revolutionary movement was driven by a complex set of factors that extended beyond the specific war itself.
The French and Indian War, also known as the Seven Years' War, was a conflict between the British and French colonial powers in North America that took place from 1754 to 1763. The war resulted in a significant victory for the British, who gained control over much of North America.
The French and Indian War had several effects that played a role in the lead-up to the American Revolution:
1. Financial Burden: The war left Britain with a massive debt, leading to increased taxation on the American colonies. These taxes, such as the Stamp Act and Townshend Acts, fueled discontent and opposition among the colonists.
2. Proclamation of 1763: In an attempt to avoid further conflicts with Native American tribes and to manage westward expansion, the British government issued the Proclamation of 1763, which restricted colonial settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains. This angered many colonists who desired access to western lands.
3. Increased Colonial Unity: The shared experience of the French and Indian War fostered a sense of unity among some American colonists. Intercolonial cooperation during the war highlighted the idea of a collective American identity, which would later play a role in the revolutionary movement.
While the French and Indian War contributed to the tensions between Britain and the American colonies, it is essential to note that there were other factors that also contributed to the outbreak of the American Revolution. Issues such as colonial self-governance, economic grievances, and disputes over parliamentary authority played significant roles in the escalating conflict.

What were the expectations within the middle class for women in the industrial era? A. To be homemakers and caretakers B. To be factory workers and laborers C. To be educated and independent D. To be involved in politics and activism
During the Industrial Era, the expectation for women within the middle class was primarily to be homemakers and caretakers. While some women did work outside the home, this was not considered an expectation, particularly within the middle class.
In the Industrial Era, the expectation for women within the middle class was primarily to be homemakers and caretakers. Middle-class women were expected to be devoted wives and mothers who managed the household and took care of their families. They were responsible for the emotional and physical well-being of their husbands and children. Women were also expected to oversee the education and moral development of their children, particularly their daughters.
However, as the Industrial Revolution progressed, some middle-class women began to demand greater education and independence. This led to the emergence of a new type of woman, one who was educated, financially independent, and socially aware. These women often became involved in social and political causes, including suffrage and temperance.
Despite this, involvement in politics and activism was not considered an expectation for women within the middle class during the Industrial Era. The dominant view was that women should focus on their duties within the home and leave politics to men. It was not until later in the 19th century and the early 20th century that women's involvement in politics became more accepted and widespread.

"The Crimea! Once a flourishing and wealthy colony of ancient Greeks, a trade hub for Venetians and Genoese, a center of sciences and the arts! In time, however, it fell to the Mongols, became a haven for robbers, and, under the crescent flag of Islam, began to be a place where Christians were persecuted. Despite being rich in natural resources and blessed by a favorable geographical location and a mild climate, the peninsula grew poor, lost its significance, and became a threatening neighbor to the Christian kingdoms of the Caucasus, to Poland, and especially to Russia. But one hundred years ago, in its forward march to the south, to its natural borders, reclaiming the right to its ancient lands, our empire took possession of the Crimea and restored it to its ancient state of enlightenment and peace. In the past one hundred years, many cities in the European style were built, ports were opened, good roads were constructed and, most importantly, numerous educational institutions were established that spread the light of knowledge and science among the Muslim Crimean Tatars who, until now, had dwelled in ignorance. In Crimea arrived the happiest of days!" In 2021 the National Association of State Boards of Education began searching for a new CEO, to replace their current CEO who would be retiring. After interviewing and scouting potential candidates across the country NASBE eventually decided on bringing Paolo DeMaria into the position.
DeMaria was well known for his success as the superintendent of the state of Ohio, which lead to the decision. Paolo has a 30-year background that will help with further his work as NASBE’s new CEO. The change will be a good fit for both DeMaria and NASBE as they both share the same values in furthering the education of children.
I believe that this is an adaptive change, as the change of CEO is between individuals with similar ideals, ethics and backgrounds. So it will not be threating or jarring for employees to adjust to. However there is potential for this to evolve into an innovative change depending on how DeMaria chooses to lead during his time with NASBE. There is a potential for him to introduce new practices and ethics into the company in order to grow.
In terms of values, I believe there were a few changes with the installation of DeMaria as CEO. With his tenure in education, DeMaria already shares most of the values of NASBE. DeMaria has stated that he wishes to see children be challenged in order to further their education, as well as improve overall literacy and overall development of education across the country. Which is already the goal of NASBE.
I believe this organizational change is very beneficial, both for NASBE and the entire country’s education system. Paolo DeMaria has repeatedly shown his passion for change in children’s education during his tenure as superintendent. I believe that his transition into being NASBE’s CEO only opens more opportunities for there to be meaningful change in how educational organizations operate.
It’s unclear if this change was successful or has had much impact as of yet. Primarily due to the fact the change is still relatively recent, with DeMaria acting in position in January of 2022.
The post provides information about the appointment of Paolo DeMaria as the new CEO of the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) and discusses the potential impact of this organizational change.
Here are some questions that can be asked about the post:
1. Who conducted the search for the new CEO of NASBE?

3. What specific successes did Paolo DeMaria achieve as the superintendent of the state of Ohio?
4. How does DeMaria's 30-year background contribute to his suitability for the CEO position?

6. In what ways can DeMaria's appointment be seen as an adaptive change?
7. How might DeMaria's leadership style and practices potentially introduce innovation to NASBE?
8. Are there any specific new practices or ethics that DeMaria is expected to bring to NASBE?
9. How has DeMaria expressed his commitment to challenging children and improving literacy and overall education development?
10. What are the potential benefits and impacts of this organizational change for NASBE and the education system as a whole?
11. Is there any evidence or examples of Paolo DeMaria's previous efforts and passion for change in children's education?
12. How long has DeMaria been in his role as the CEO of NASBE, and what indicators suggest whether the change has been successful or impactful so far?
