In conclusion, states generally prefer financial aid from the federal government because it offers them the flexibility to allocate funds based on their specific needs and priorities.

which of the following was a feature found in both the putting-out system of manufacturing and the factory production of textiles?
One feature found in both the putting-out system of manufacturing and the factory production of textiles was the division of labor. This involved breaking down the production process into smaller, specialized tasks that were assigned to different workers, allowing for increased efficiency and productivity.
In the putting-out system, also known as the domestic system or the cottage industry, production was decentralized. It involved merchants or contractors providing raw materials to individual households, where the work was carried out. Each household specialized in a particular task, such as spinning, weaving, or sewing, and would pass the semi-finished product to the next household in the production chain. This division of labor allowed for specialization and increased productivity. Similarly, in the factory production of textiles, which emerged during the Industrial Revolution, there was a division of labor.
However, instead of work being done in individual households, it was concentrated in centralized factories. Factory workers were assigned specific tasks or operations, such as operating machinery, spinning, weaving, or finishing. This division of labor in factories allowed for greater efficiency and mass production of textiles.

How do you think the colonized people felt? Why? Give at least two reasons.
Answer:
As European and American imperialism continued around the world, non-western indegenous people of the lands being colonized would either fight the intruders or resign to modernizing their societies to western culture. Those who chose to fight were met with extremely violent military responses. Some resistances were successful, others were not.To curb European imperialism in the Americas, the U.S. issued the Monroe Doctrine. The stated goal was to help protect Latin America from European control. However, it actually led to the U.S. exerting its own control of Latin America without conflict from European powers. Beliefs in white supremacy led to the idea that it was the duty of the US to spread democracy. America began to exert a strong influence across the globe.what do marx and engels mean by commodification and alienation
Marx and Engels describe commodification as the transformation of goods and services, as well as ideas and people, into commodities that are bought and sold in the marketplace.
Marx and Engels use the term commodification to describe the process of transforming goods, services, and other objects into commodities that can be bought and sold in a market economy. In a capitalist system, commodities are produced for the purpose of exchange and profit, rather than for their intrinsic use value. This leads to the exploitation of workers who are forced to sell their labor power to capitalists for a wage. In this context, commodification also results in the dehumanization of individuals as they are reduced to objects or inputs in the production process.
Marx and Engels use the term alienation to describe the social and psychological consequences of commodification. According to them, alienation occurs when workers become estranged from the products of their labor, the production process, other workers, and themselves. Workers are not in control of their own work, and they do not own or control the means of production. As a result, they feel disconnected from the products of their labor and the creative process, which leads to a sense of meaninglessness and powerlessness. Alienation also occurs when workers are reduced to a mere factor of production and treated as interchangeable, dehumanized entities in the production process.

describe the signs to look for if you suspect a friend may be self-harming
May be acting different more depressed, hiding their arms or legs.
Answer:
Gonna answer this from the perspective of someone who is a former self harmer.
1. Withdrawl from social settings. (I stopped talking to friends / family around the time that my self harm was the worst because I felt like if I did that my secret wouldn't be exposed)
2. Long Pants / Sleeves when its hot out - maybe along with the claim that "Oh I'm always cold." (No. We aren't cold. We're burning up. But we can't risk someone seeing our arms / legs when we've been self harming)
3. More anxiety / depression / anger issues. (These are all heightened while self harming, and sometimes even for awhile after we've stopped.)
4. A change in sleeping / eating habits (I started to sleep and eat less, while also having days where all I did was eat because for the past week I only really had one meal)
This isn't a full list and obviously different signs present in different people. If you suspect a friend is self harming do NOT be confrontational about it. You can bring up the topic in a friendly way and if they deny it to you then don't press on. You can bring it up again, just try to keep it at least a week apart.
It's frustrating to deal with someone who is going through this, I know, but remember that they have feelings as well.
It's best to deal with them as you would a child. Take things slowly and don't get upset or yell when it comes to these topics.
But also - If they do open up to you about their self harm, do as they wish for you to. Don't tell a parent or a counselor even if that seems best because it can also make it worse for them. Respect your friends wishes and don't treat them any different. Just be there for them and support them.
