I'm learning about photosynthesis and cellular respiration and wonder how cellular respiration works for plants.
So if I understand correctly, photosynthesis "re-combines" the atoms so it produces dextrose and then let go of the extra oxygen and uses extra dextrose to grow. But if plants use dextrose to grow, why do they use cellular respiration at night??? Why do they convert dextrose and oxygen that I'm not even sure where it's from to water, carbon dioxide and energi? I sort of understand if they need hydration but why convert dextrose?? If they need the energi, what's the energi for? For photosynthesis???
Answer:
Cellular respiration converts oxygen and glucose into water and carbon dioxide. Water and carbon dioxide are by- products and ATP is energy that is transformed from the process. Background Information: ... Plants take in carbon dioxide through tiny openings or pores in their leaves called stomata.

The invasive plant species become decomposers since the ecosystem already has native producers. All other decomposers go extinct in the ecosystem, replaced by invasive plant species.
Answer:
The best description of the likely impact of an invasive plant species on a warm ecosystem is:
The invasive plant species take over resources used by native plant species. Some plant species decrease in population, affecting the food source for consumers in the ecosystem.
Invasive plant species have the ability to outcompete native plant species for resources such as sunlight, water, and nutrients. This can lead to a decrease in the population of native plant species as they are unable to access sufficient resources to thrive. As a result, the food source for consumers in the ecosystem may be affected, leading to potential changes in the population dynamics of the consumer species.

How do auxins cause plants to bend?
A) Auxins make plant cells grow larger towards the light causing it to bend.
B) Auxins make plant cells grow heavier causing it to tip on one side.
C) Auxins cause plants to grow wider.
D) Auxins cause plant cells to shrink on one side making it less heavy, which tips the plant on the other side.
Answer:A) Auxins make plant cells grow larger towards the light causing it to bend.
Answer:
A.
Auxins make plant cells grow larger towards the light causing it to bend.
Explanation:
The auxins go more in the shady side, and that is why there are more auxins in the shady side, but in the illuminated side, there are less auxins. That will cause a bend in the growth of the plant towards the light source because the shady side has more auxins to make it grow. This is the reason why when there are auxins in a plant, they start to grow towards light.

Pair 1
Explanation:
The poles are opposite, so opposite closer together and the distance is closer together, so there is stronger magnetic field
The pair of magnet that have the greatest magnitude would be Pair 1.
Why do they have the greatest magnitude ?Magnets will only attract each other and therefore have a great magnitude if they are facing opposite poles. Pair 3 are therefore out because it has the same pole facing the other.
Magnitude of magnetic force will increase the closer the magnets are to each other. Seeing as Pair 1 has the lowest distance of 0. 3 cm, it means that Pair 1 would have the greatest magnitude.

Answer:
S - Savannas are typically found in tropical or subtropical regions.
S - Savannas tend to have more trees and shrubs.
S - Savanna's climate is drier than that of a grassland.
G - Grasslands are found in temperature regions.
G - Temperature Grasslands are mainly devoid of trees, receive less rainfall than Savannas & endure broader temperature extremes.
G - Grasslands make up 25 percent of the Earth's land surface and dominate in regions with limited rainfall, which prevents forest growth. This results from nearby mountain ranges that cause rain shadows over adjacent open-range lands.
B - Both represent the world's richest and most diverse ecosystems. They both provide a home for a quarter of the world's population and a habitat for thousands of plants and animals.
B - Many species gather in vast numbers, graze on the varied grasses, and can be found nowhere else on Earth. The coexistence between wildlife and grasses is key to healthy ecosystems. Animal migrations regenerate the landscapes, by controlling pests, dispersing seeds, and trampling invasive species. Through this partnership, grasslands and savannahs generate vital benefits for both people and nature.
B - Ecosystems such as these two in specific are essential for climate mitigation – they store carbon, locking it deep in the soil and extensive root systems. They are the source of or support many of the world’s biggest rivers and wetlands, ensure food security, support livelihoods, and are embedded in the cultural identity of millions of people.

The theory of evolution has changed over time. Initially, Lamarck believed that organisms developed traits in response to a changing environment to improve their chances of survival. Later Darwin proposed that organisms that already possessed traits suitable to a changing environment were more likely to survive and reproduce.
Which of the following does not explain why the theory of evolution has changed?
A. Lamarck’s theory was discarded when new scientific information became available.
B. Darwin collected empirical evidence to support that organisms with favorable traits survived and reproduced.
C. The theory of evolution became a scientific law after much debate and confirmation in the scientific community.
D. Other scientists such as Peter and Rosemary Grant have collected additional empirical evidence that supports Darwin’s findings.
An air mass classified as cT usually forms over which type of earth surface
Answer:
Explanation:
An air mass classified as cT (Continental Tropical) usually forms over land masses in tropical regions. The warm, dry air of a cT air mass is typically formed over desert or semi-desert regions in the subtropics, where temperatures are high and evaporation rates are low. The air mass picks up heat from the ground and becomes warm and dry, leading to the development of stable, stratified atmospheric conditions. This type of air mass is often associated with clear skies and calm winds, and is often seen as a precursor to hot, dry weather in many regions.

Explain how deep currents form and move in the ocean.
Use complete sentences.
This is science 6th grade. Amplify.
Deep ocean currents are formed by differences in water density, which are usually caused by differences in temperature and salinity. The density of seawater increases as the temperature decreases and the salinity increases. This means that colder and saltier water is denser and sinks to the bottom of the ocean, while warmer and less salty water is less dense and rises to the surface.
These differences in water density set up a circulation pattern in the ocean known as thermohaline circulation. In this circulation, cold and dense water sinks in the polar regions and flows towards the equator, where it slowly rises to the surface. This creates a global conveyor belt of deep ocean currents that circulate water around the world's oceans.
The movement of deep ocean currents is also influenced by the Earth's rotation and the shape of the ocean basins. The Coriolis effect, which is caused by the Earth's rotation, deflects deep ocean currents to the right in the Northern Hemisphere and to the left in the Southern Hemisphere. The shape of the ocean basins also influences the movement of deep ocean currents, as currents tend to flow around the edges of the basins and are deflected by land masses and underwater ridges.
Overall, deep ocean currents are an important part of the global ocean circulation system and play a crucial role in regulating Earth's climate by transporting heat and nutrients around the world's oceans.

By what proportion does the magnification change when you change from low power magnification to high power magnification?
Answer: Changing from low power to high power increases the magnification of a specimen. The amount an image is magnified is equal to the magnification of the ocular lens, or eyepiece, multiplied by the magnification of the objective lens. When you switch to a higher power, the field of view is closes in. You will see more of an object on low power. The depth of focus is greatest on the lowest power objective. Each time you switch to a higher power, the depth of focus is reduced. "It really depends on your microscope but I will answer your question based on the most common microscope specifications: Low power is the 10x objective lens so it provides 100x total magnification. The high power lens is the 40x lens so it provides 400x total magnification.

MIGHT GIVE BRAINLIEST Compare a paramecium with a giraffe. How are their cells alike? How are they different? Write
your answer in complete sentences. be original
Answer:
A paramecium is similar to a giraffe in one defining way. Both a giraffe and paramecium have eukaryotic cells. One way in which the two are different is that the paramecium feeds on decaying organisms, whilst a giraffe eats leaves. Another is that paramecium primarily live in fresh water, while a giraffe dwells on land.
A paramecium and a giraffe are two very different organisms. A paramecium is a single-celled organism, while a giraffe is a large, multicellular mammal. Despite their many differences, both a paramecium and a giraffe have cells. However, the cells of a paramecium and a giraffe are quite different from each other in terms of size, shape, and function.
One of the most significant differences between the cells of a paramecium and a giraffe is their size. The cells of a paramecium are very small, measuring only a few micrometers in diameter. In contrast, the cells of a giraffe are much larger and more varied in size, depending on their function within the body. For example, giraffe nerve cells are much larger than giraffe red blood cells.
Another important difference between the cells of a paramecium and a giraffe is their shape. The cells of a paramecium are typically elongated and oval-shaped, with a pointed end at one end and a rounded end at the other. In contrast, the cells of a giraffe are much more varied in shape, depending on their location and function within the body. For example, giraffe muscle cells are long and cylindrical, while giraffe nerve cells are elongated and have many branching extensions.
Despite their many differences, the cells of a paramecium and a giraffe do have some similarities. For example, both types of cells have a cell membrane that surrounds the cell and controls the movement of materials in and out of the cell. Both types of cells also have a cytoskeleton, which provides support and structure to the cell. Additionally, both types of cells have a nucleus, which contains the cell's genetic material.
Overall, while the cells of a paramecium and a giraffe have some similarities, they are also very different from each other in terms of size, shape, and function. The small, simple cells of a paramecium are adapted for life in a single-celled organism, while the larger, more complex cells of a giraffe are adapted for life in a multicellular mammal.
