The Earning per share under the new debt alternative is calculated to be 1.71. So option B is correct.

Earnings per share are calculated by dividing a company’s quarterly or annual earnings (after deducting dividends) by its number of outstanding shares of stock. The higher the EPS of a company, the more profitable it is and the more valuable it is to investors.

Various components of EPS computation are -

2021 EBIT is 1,200,000

The Interest on 2021 Debt ($500,000 x 7.4%) =37,000

The Interest on 2020 Debt ($1,250,000 x 6.9%) = 86,250

Dividend payment on preferred stock ($2,000,000 x 10.9%) = 218,000

The Earnings before tax = 1,076,750

Earning after tax = 646,050

Tax (Charged at 40%) = 430,700

Number of outstanding Common stock = 250,000

Total earnings on common shares = 428,050

We need to calculate the earnings per share:

Earning per share = Total earnings on common shares / Number of outstanding common stock

Putting the values in the above formula:

Earning per share = 428,050/250,000

Earning per share = 1.71

an essay on corona? ok! here

It has affected me personally in the social and educational aspect, but I know around the city of Detroit it's affecting others as well. In Detroit, which is one of the cities around the country hit hard by the virus, the pandemic has also affected the youth. Youth are now forced to stay home instead of going to school and spending time with friends. Most kids need to be outside and with people to release their energy and socialize. Now this cannot happen, because the virus has affected us so much. One thing we also see happening is food insecurities and social distancing. Due to what is happening in the world, people are very much afraid and cautious about food supply and interactions with people. People are afraid and are told to stay inside, so we stock up supplies that will last them about a month. Usually people get stuff that we will last them about two weeks, but now we need to stay home as much as we can.

With social distancing, we now separate ourselves from other parts of society. This has made me feel very much disconnected from my friends. Humans are made to be out and about and socialize with beings on Earth. These unfortunate events have led many people to be disconnected from society. This has allowed my mind to go to the dark side, where my fears come out. My main fear is “How long will my life be on pause?” I’m afraid of how long I will be stuck in the house and can’t see my friends. Will it be a couple more weeks or will it be a couple months?

When a country is supporting its own interests, such as defending its borders, maintaining its culture, and fostering economic and social progress, nationalism is often well-presented.

When a nation or its citizens are threatened with losing their sovereignty or face a common enemy, nationalism is frequently persuasively displayed. This may be seen in the French Revolution, when the people rebelled against their repressive government in order to pursue independence and a feeling of identity. Another instance is the American Revolution, which was waged by American colonists to free themselves from the British and found the United States of America.

Thirdly, during the early 20th century struggle for Indian independence from British control, Indian nationalists organized campaigns of peaceful civil disobedience and rallies to demand their freedom. All of these instances show how nationalism can be an effective motivator for a people to stand up for their rights and independence.

consider the following sample values: 1, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 what is the sample standard deviation?

Answers

The sample standard deviation is a measure of how spread out the sample values are from the mean. To calculate the sample standard deviation, we will follow these steps:

Calculate the mean of the sample values by adding them together and dividing by the number of values. In this case, the mean is (1 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 10 + 11 + 12) / 10 = 6For each sample value, subtract the mean and square the result. This gives us the squared deviations: (1 - 6)² = 25, (4 - 6)² = 4, (5 - 6)² = 1, (6 - 6)² = 0, (6 - 6)² = 0, (7 - 6)² = 1, (8 - 6)² = 4, (10 - 6)² = 16, (11 - 6)² = 25, (12 - 6)² = 36Add up the squared deviations: 25 + 4 + 1 + 0 + 0 + 1 + 4 + 16 + 25 + 36 = 112Divide the sum of the squared deviations by the number of values minus 1: 112 / (10 - 1) = 112 / 9 = 12.44Take the square root of the result to get the sample standard deviation: √12.44 = 3.53

Therefore, the sample standard deviation of the given sample values is 3.53.

which best explains how the title of a rumor of war can be considered a paradox? those who experienced the war are the only ones who know the truth. s

Answers

The title of "A Rumor of War" can be considered a paradox because the words "rumor" and "war" have opposing connotations. The word "rumor" suggests uncertainty, while "war" suggests a violent conflict that is happening. So, when the two words are combined, it creates a paradox. Hence, the statement is paradoxical.

Also, the title is a paradox as it suggests that the story will be about a rumor that was circulating about the Vietnam War, but it is actually about the author's experiences in the war.

As per the given question, the statement, "those who experienced the war are the only ones who know the truth" can be considered as a paradox because a paradox is a statement that appears to be self-contradictory but reveals a truth.

Here, the statement contradicts itself because if only those who experienced the war know the truth, then there can be no truth about the war since everyone's experience will differ.

Write an objective summary of the poem "Mother to Son," including its theme or message. Explain how the author creates a specific tone using figurative language and dialect to convey this message. Then compare and contrast the poem with the structure and theme of another text you have read in this unit, such as "Home" or "Abuela Invents the Zero. " Analyze how the differing structure of each text contributes to its meaning and style. Support your writing with evidence from both texts

Answers

The poem "Mother to Son" by Langston Hughes is a spoken-word poem from a mother to her son.

The mother conveys the message that life is a journey that is never easy, but even when faced with obstacles, one should never give up. The poem is written in dialect and contains figurative language such as metaphors and similes to create a tone of resilience, patience, and hope. The poem "Mother to Son" contrasts with the poem "Home" by Warsan Shire in both structure and theme. While "Mother to Son" has a direct, conversational tone and is told in free verse, "Home" is written in a more poetic and lyrical style and is composed in a sequence of couplets. "Mother to Son" focuses on the idea of hope and perseverance, while "Home" focuses on the idea of alienation and longing for home. While both poems have a similar message of resilience, they take different approaches to conveying the same idea.  Both texts use their chosen structure to create different meanings and styles.

Answer:

Kashyap included Roja R's story to show evidence of how many places have supported fair working conditions for women. This example, makes Kashyap's argument gain veracity and validation, since it addresses a real issue.

Explanation:

Kashyap's article shows a situation that is unfortunately very common in our modern world. This is because women's rights and protection in the industrial sector is still underestimated and disrespected in the industrial sector.

To reinforce this argument, the author uses the real case of women working in a clothing factory in India. This is the case with Roja R who is constantly harassed by his superiors, but can do nothing against it, for fear of losing his job. Roja, even reported the case to the company's board of directors who said that this is a normal situation and that it does no harm to anyone. She should adapt or leave the company.
