What was a major social effect of the Industrial Revolution?

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Rapid urbanization (Population growth)

                                                                              ( Better description )

 - and the formation of a new industrial middle class and industrial working class. It provided monetary rewards and new prospects, but it also created significant challenges for industrial employees and miners, particularly women and children. Farming changes, skyrocketing population development, and an ever-increasing demand for employees drove large numbers of people to relocate from fields to cities. Small communities around coal or iron mines grew into cities almost overnight.

Below is a walk-through on what the Industrial Revolution was and its everlasting effects. The answer to the primary question is above.

What was the Industrial Revolution?

The totality of the changes in economic and social organization that began about 1760 in England later in other countries, characterized chiefly by the replacement of hand tools with power-driven machines, as the power loom and the stream engine, and by the concentration of industry in large establishments.

What was the significance of the Industrial Revolution?

Effects of the Industrial Revolution

Because the Industrial Revolution was so fresh towards the end of the 18th century, there were no regulations to govern new industries at the time. There were no rules prohibiting firms from recruiting seven-year-old youngsters to work full-time in coal mines or factories, for example. There were no restrictions governing what industries may do with biohazard waste. Because of free-market capitalism, the government had no role in regulating new enterprises or developing services for new communities. And those in charge of the government preferred it that way—at the time, only a small proportion of the wealthy could vote in England. So, between 1790 and 1850, during the first phase of the Industrial Revolution, British society became the first illustration of what happens in a country when free-market capitalism has no constraints.

Working Conditions

The British Parliament approved the Combination Acts in 1799 and 1800, making it illegal for workers to unionize or combine as a collective to demand better working conditions.

The Poor Law of 1834 established workhouses for the poor. Poorhouses were purposefully constructed to be unpleasant environments in order to dissuade individuals from staying on "relief" (government food aid).

Urbanization

The emergence of cities was one of the most distinctive and long-lasting elements of the Industrial Revolution. More than 80% of individuals in pre-industrial society lived in rural regions. Small towns grew into major metropolis as people relocated from the countryside. For the first time in history, more people lived in cities than in rural regions in Great Britain by 1850. As other nations in Europe and North America began to industrialize, they, too, followed the road of urbanization. By 1920, cities housed the vast majority of Americans.

Child Labor

Unfortunately, child labor was common in the early industries, mines, and mills in England. As modern power looms and spinning mules replaced expert workers in textile mills, industry owners utilized cheap, unskilled labor to reduce production costs. And the cheapest labor was kid labor. Some of these devices were so simple to use that even a tiny kid could do the simple, repetitive operations. Some maintenance jobs, such as squeezing into tiny spots, may be easier for youngsters to complete than for adults. Furthermore, children did not attempt to join labor unions or go on strike. Best of all, they were paid one-tenth of what males were. So it's not unexpected that youngsters were frequently employed in the first factories in history.

The Emerging Middle Class

A middle class, or "middling type," did arise in industrial cities gradually, especially at the end of the nineteenth century. Until then, society had just two broad classes: aristocrats born into lives of wealth and luxury, and low-income commoners born into working-class lives. However, emerging urban industries eventually demanded more "white collar" employment, such as business people, shopkeepers, bank clerks, insurance agents, merchants, accountants, managers, physicians, attorneys, and teachers. Middle-class persons were more likely to be paid monthly or yearly than hourly. The expansion of retail businesses in England from 300 in 1875 to 2,600 by 1890 was one indicator of this expanding middle class. Another distinguishing feature of the middle class was their ability to employ maids to cook and clean the house on occasion. Not unexpectedly, the number of domestic servants surged from 900,000 to 1.4 million between 1851 and 1871. This is evidence of a tiny but growing middle class that takes pleasure in taking care of themselves and their family. Professional success, they believed, was the consequence of a person's energy, dedication, and hard effort.

Answer North America

why might drought in asia affect people in europe or north america

Answers

Drought in Asia can impact people in Europe and North America through its effects on global food supply chains, water systems, trade and manufacturing, and climate patterns.

Several reasons contribute to this interconnectedness and the potential effects of the Asian drought on these distant regions.

Firstly, agriculture plays a significant role in the global food supply chain. Asian countries are major producers and exporters of agricultural commodities such as rice, wheat, soybeans, and cotton. Drought conditions in Asia can lead to decreased crop yields and reduced availability of these commodities, causing price spikes and disruptions in global food markets.
Secondly, water scarcity in Asia can affect global water systems. Rivers originating in Asia, such as the Yangtze and the Ganges, are major water sources that flow into the oceans. Reduced water flow due to drought can impact river ecosystems, marine biodiversity, and oceanic currents.
Moreover, global trade and economic interdependence connect regions across the world. Asia is a major hub for manufacturing and production, supplying goods and components to markets worldwide.

Lastly, climate change is a global issue affecting all regions. Droughts in Asia can serve as a reminder of the interconnectedness of the Earth's climate system.

Why did people immigrate to America in the 1920s?

During the colonial era, which spanned the first half of the 19th century and the years 1880 to 1920, the United States experienced significant influxes of immigrants. Many immigrants came to the United States in search of better economic opportunities, while others, like the Pilgrims at the beginning of the 16th century, came in search of religious liberty. From the seventeenth to nineteenth hundreds of years, countless subjugated Africans came to America despite their desire to the contrary. The Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 was the first significant piece of federal legislation restricting immigration. Before Ellis Island, the nation's first federal immigration station, opened in 1892, individual states regulated immigration. New regulations in 1965 finished the standard framework that leaned toward European migrants, and today, most of the country's settlers hail from Asia and Latin America.

Match the causes for US support of France and Vietnam to their effects

Answers

US support for France in Vietnam had far-reaching consequences. It resulted in direct American involvement in the conflict, heightened by the fear of communism spreading in the region. The subsequent escalation of the war and the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution reflected the effects of US support for France and its wider implications for the Vietnam War.

Cause: US Support of France

Effect: Involvement in the Vietnam War

During the Cold War era, the United States supported France in its colonial conflicts in Indochina, particularly Vietnam. The causes for US support of France in this context were influenced by geopolitical considerations and the US policy of containment against the spread of communism.

One of the effects of US support for France was its increasing involvement in the Vietnam War. As the conflict escalated and France's position weakened, the US stepped in to provide military and financial assistance to maintain its ally's presence in Vietnam. This led to direct US military intervention, transforming the conflict from a French colonial issue to a larger-scale war with American involvement.

Cause: Fear of Communist Expansion

Effect: Domino Theory and the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution

The US supported France in Vietnam due to its fear of communist expansion in Southeast Asia. The prevailing belief was the Domino Theory, which posited that if one country fell to communism, neighboring countries would follow suit like falling dominos. This fear of communist influence spreading beyond Vietnam motivated US support for France.

The effect of this fear was reflected in the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. In 1964, the alleged attack on US Navy ships in the Gulf of Tonkin prompted Congress to pass the resolution, granting broad powers to President Lyndon B. Johnson to use military force in Southeast Asia without a formal declaration of war. This resolution marked a significant escalation of US involvement in the Vietnam War and led to increased troop deployments and intensification of military operations.

according to mandala what is the cause of the difference between living conditions of white and black south americans

Answers

Mandala is a spiritual and cultural symbol used in Hinduism and Buddhism to represent the universe and the interconnectedness of all things. As such, it is not a source of information on the living conditions of white and black South Americans, nor does it address the causes of differences in living conditions between different racial groups.

Instead, we must turn to social and historical factors to understand these differences. South America has a long history of colonialism and slavery, which has led to deep-seated social and economic inequalities based on race.

White South Americans, who are largely descended from European colonizers, have historically held more wealth and power than Black South Americans, who are largely descended from enslaved Africans.

These historical factors have been reinforced by ongoing systemic discrimination and inequality in education, healthcare, and employment opportunities, as well as by racist attitudes and beliefs that perpetuate stereotypes and prejudice.

To address these differences, it is essential to acknowledge and confront these historical and ongoing injustices and work towards greater equity and inclusion for all South Americans.

Answers

The idea that a human being–the Messiah–will help usher in the redemption of the Jewish people has roots in the Bible. However, Jewish sources have not, as a general rule, focused attention on the specific personal qualities of the Messiah. Images of the Messiah as humble or as a child are juxtaposed with images of a victorious and wise ruler–perhaps contrasting Israel’s current, unredeemed state and the prophetic vision of the future. In recent times, some Jews have “democratized” the concept of the Messiah, seeing the process of, or the preparation for, redemption in the actions of regular people.
