and possibly The number of German casualties and their previous losses likely made it difficult for Germany to recover. but im not 100% sure I hope this helps

I think France had the strongest military during WWII, because the German Invasion of France during 1940 was a easy win for Hitler and Germany. But again, it could be strategy, not man-power. I also don’t think Canada played a huge roll in the War. I think they joined because the UK was in the war and so did other Commonwealth Countries, like Australia. The main key players in WWII were probably the Soviet Union and the United States. France still existed under Nazi rule (though it was called Vichy France) and was probably a key player too. The Allied Invasion of Normandy was a big turning point in the War, and Germany did see a lot of casualties, so I think the answer is the first two scenarios; the Normandy invasion was a significant turning point during the war and Germany experienced the most casualties during the Normandy invasion.

In what ways were Pueblo Bonito and Mesa Verde similar? How were they different?
(PLEASE HELP ME WITH THE HISTORY QUESTION!!!)

Answers

Answer:

Pueblo Bonito and Mesa Verde are both ancient ruins located in the southwestern region of the United States that showcase the ancestral Puebloan culture. However, there are differences in the way they were constructed and used.

Similarities:

- Both are located in the southwestern region of the United States.

- Both were constructed by the ancestral Puebloan people around 1,000 years ago.

- Both were primarily built using sandstone and other local materials.

- Both were abandoned around the same time, around the late 1200s and early 1300s.

Differences:

- Pueblo Bonito is located in Chaco Canyon, New Mexico while Mesa Verde is found in Colorado.

- Pueblo Bonito is a large, multistoried complex that once had over 600 rooms and several ceremonial kivas, while Mesa Verde has many smaller structures built into the cliffs, including the famous Cliff Palace.

- Pueblo Bonito was likely used primarily for religious and social gatherings, while Mesa Verde seems to have functioned as a more permanent home for its inhabitants.

- The architectural styles of the two sites are also different, with Pueblo Bonito featuring a distinctive D-shaped design and Mesa Verde's structures built into the cliffs.

Overall, while Pueblo Bonito and Mesa Verde share many similarities in their origins and abandonment, they differ in their size, function, and architectural styles.

Similar - Both sites, the dwellings were connected and close together. Both have round kivas for ceremonies
Differences - Pueblo Bonito was out in the open. Mesa Verde was built underneath cliffs.

The Silk Road was a network of Eurasian trade routes active from the second century BCE until the mid-15th century.Spanning over 6,400 kilometers (4,000 miles), it played a central role in facilitating economic, cultural, political, and religious interactions between the East and West. The name "Silk Road", first coined in the late 19th century, has fallen into disuse among some modern historians in favor of Silk Routes, which more accurately describes the intricate web of land and sea routes connecting East and Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Central Asia, the Middle East, East Africa and Europe.

Do you think the Stamp Act was fair/reasonable? In other words, do you think the colonists were right to protest the tax or should they simply have paid it? Explain.

Answers

Answer/Explanation:

The Stamp Act was very unpopular among colonists. A majority considered it a violation of their rights as Englishmen to be taxed without their consent—consent that only the colonial legislatures could grant. Their slogan was "No taxation without representation". The Stamp Act was also a way Britain controlled the colonies. This was not fair in the slightest.

Women’s involvement in the Progressive movement lead to changes made to the Constitution for example womens rights

Explanation:

Answer:

An example of some women's involvement in the Progressive movement is when women resented the restraints society placed on them. Jane Addams, the founder of Hull House in Chicago, typified the attitudes of the first group of college-educated women. Since family structures limited their freedom, many of these ambitious and socially-conscious women chose to defer marriage or remain single. Hull House provided an opportunity for these women to achieve personal satisfaction.

What was Captain Cook's role in the First Fleet?

Answers

Answer:

Myth 2 – Cook and Endeavour were in the First Fleet and brought convicts to Australia. ... In fact, Cook was the representative of the British Crown and claimed possession of the east coast of Australia on behalf of the Crown, naming it New South Wales

Explanation:

Myth 1 – Cook was the first European to discover Australia
According to a recent survey 31 per cent of Australians think that James Cook was the first European to find Australia.1

The fact is that Cook’s 1770 voyage followed more than a dozen previous encounters by Europeans in the north-west, west and south of the continent throughout the 17th century – all of them more than a hundred years before Cook’s visit. There may even have been earlier Portuguese visits in the 16th century, and some historians have suggested that the Chinese Grand Fleet, under Admiral Zheng He, may have arrived here in the 15th century. Visiting long before Cook, men such as Willem Janszoon, Luis Vaz de Torres, Dirk Hartog, Frederick de Houtman and Abel Tasman are certainly not household names, as are Cook and Endeavour.

Cook can claim a couple of other ‘firsts’, though: in 1770, he was the first European to chart the east coast and the Endeavour crew were the first Europeans known to have landed on the east coast.

In fact, the oldest known foreign visitors to Australia were from modern-day Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Makassan traders had been visiting and trading with people in northern Australia for hundreds of years and dugout canoes were traded from the Sepik River to the Torres Strait Islands for generations before Cook arrived there.

No European ‘discovered’ Australia. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inhabitants of this continent managed that all by themselves – some 60,000 years before any European turned up.

Painting of James Cook

Myth 2 – Cook and Endeavour were in the First Fleet and brought convicts to Australia
According to the same survey, 47 per cent of Australians think that Endeavour arrived in Australia with the First Fleet in 1788 – and they are 100 per cent wrong!2

The First Fleet, under Captain Arthur Phillip, arrived in Botany Bay between 18 and 20 January 1788. By that time, Cook had been dead for nine years, Endeavour had been renamed Lord Sandwich, and in 1778, during the American War of Independence, the ship had been scuttled in Newport Harbor, Rhode Island, as an underwater defence against French attack.

The way many non-Indigenous Australians mix up Cook and Phillip is understandable – for many years Cook’s arrival was seen as a better foundational moment than a fleet full of convicts, and so 29 April (the date when Endeavour arrived at Botany Bay in 1770) was officially celebrated as the origin of white settlement. From the 1930s, the focus of national commemorations turned towards the First Fleet – but often didn’t mention the convicts. It wasn’t until the ‘convict stain’ began to be erased in the 1970s that the First Fleet became widely associated with the beginning of modern Australia.

In fact, Cook was the representative of the British Crown and claimed possession of the east coast of Australia on behalf of the Crown, naming it New South Wales. Cook’s arrival has therefore become the symbol of the European invasion and occupation of the continent, particularly for First Nations people.

Myth 3 – January 26 marks Cook’s arrival
Another fallacy. On 29 April 1770, Cook arrived in Stingray Bay (which he later changed to Botanist Bay, then Botany Bay – the area is now the Kamay Botany Bay National Park). January 26 was when the First Fleet arrived in Sydney Cove – 18 years later, in 1788. Governor Phillip moved the planned settlement from Botany Bay to Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour). Strangely, perhaps, the usually meticulous cartographer Cook didn’t even enter what Phillip called ‘the finest harbour in the world’, but merely sailed past.

Myth 4 – Cook circumnavigated Australia
That’s a ‘no’. Cook saw only the east coast of the continent, and was several thousand kilometres short of a circumnavigation.

Cook sighted the mainland near what is now called Point Hicks, in Victoria, and sailed north up the east coast before continuing to Batavia (now Jakarta, Indonesia). He didn’t ever see the north and west coasts of the continent, and the only southern region he encountered was on a later trip, when he sailed Tasmania’s east coast.

The first European to circumnavigate Australia was Matthew Flinders, from 1801 to 1803. Flinders was accompanied by Bungaree, the first Indigenous Australian known to have circumnavigated the continent.

Can someone help me with writing a biographical essay? I have the information I just haven't written one before so I need a little help. Just an outline is fine even if you don't want to write the essay out

Answers

I may be able to help you.

I have a few questions.

1) is there a specific person you have in mind that you'd like to write about?

2) Is there a rubric or student guide to give more information on what the assignment is about?

3) Also, does your essay need to be in MLA format?

A biography essay is an essay where you tell the story of a person's life. It's a chance for you to do research and learn interesting facts and opinions about someone. That person could be a historical figure, a famous actor, politician, artist, writer or inventor. The point of the biographical essay is to reveal who that person was and what contribution they have made to the world.

In order to write a great biography essay, you'll need to develop a thesis statement about them and write supporting paragraphs with information about their life and work. Finally, a conclusion will help show the lasting impact they've had.

Start off by telling the name of the person you are writing about, then describe there childhood, teens, adulthood. Things that they did that where important, impact on world. Then conclude with how they died if they are dead, if not dead concluded what they are doing right now.

Hope this helps

Answer:

The Tennessee legislature had not equitably apportioned the districts among the Supreme Court justices. "What does a Supreme Court justice being evenly distributed among the districts mean? Does this imply that a disproportionate number of persons are being represented by the district by the justice of the supreme court?

The Supreme Court of Tennessee legislature have been divided districts fairly for many years.

Tennessee is divided into three judicial districts that are referred to as the Middle, Eastern, and Western Districts of Tennessee. It important for the Supreme Court of Tennesse to divided the right amount of people in each district for the purpose of electing representatives for the state.

When the Supreme Court is respresenting an unproportional amount of people for the district can cause the state some serious backlash from the Federal Supreme Court like defunding for that state.
