1.What piece of advice can you give to those who are being bullied?

Answers

Answer 1
Wow, there are so many things I could think of. I would tell them that I am so proud of them for still working through it. You have to understand that people are always going to judge, that doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do, but it will happen. Bullies are usually very insecure about themselves and like to bring other people down in the sense that it ‘brings them up’. Ignore it, let it roll off your shoulders because their comments? They mean nothing. Don’t give them the satisfaction of being hurt by it. If you don’t let it bother you they will eventually get bored because it doesn’t give them anything back. Be the bigger person. You got this!!

Animated books are interesting. Graphic novels frequently give students the extra support they need to get through a text, especially for reluctant readers.

Text and images work well together to provide context for stories that young readers would not otherwise fully understand. A format, not a genre, is what graphic novels are. Fiction, nonfiction, history, fantasy, or any combination thereof can be found in graphic novels.

Graphic novels, as opposed to comic books, typically feature distinct stories with more intricate themes. A graphic novel can also be a compilation of short stories that have previously been released as standalone comics.

Which statement best evaluates the author's use of pacing to enhance the narrative?
The asteroid came upon them suddenly, glancing off the spaceship's starboard side and bouncing into the distance. Then another, and another. It was a storm. Captain Peters summoned the crew: one to the bridge, another to the rear. Now the asteroids were hitting two and three at a time, hurling themselves at full speed, leaving damage in their wake.

Which statement best evaluates the author's use of pacing to enhance the narrative?The asteroid came

Answers

Pacing can be defined as the speed at which the plot of a narrative moves along, and it can be used by authors to create suspense and enhance the emotional impact of the story. The author's use of pacing in the given passage is effective in enhancing the narrative by creating tension, suspense, and a sense of urgency that drives the action forward and keeps the reader engaged. Therefore, it gives a sense that the scene is frantic. (option A)

The use of pacing in the given passage can be evaluated as follows:The passage describes a sequence of events in which the spaceship is hit by asteroids. The author has used pacing effectively to create tension and a sense of urgency in the narrative. At the beginning of the passage, the asteroids come upon the spaceship suddenly, which creates a jarring effect that is intended to surprise the reader and grab their attention. The use of short sentences and fragments in this part of the passage adds to the sense of immediacy and tension.In the next sentence, the author describes the asteroids glancing off the spaceship's starboard side and bouncing into the distance. The use of this longer sentence slows down the pacing and gives the reader a moment to catch their breath before the next wave of asteroids hits. This shift in pacing also serves to enhance the emotional impact of the narrative by creating a sense of relief that is quickly followed by another wave of danger and destruction.In the following sentence, the author uses the word "storm" to describe the barrage of asteroids that is hitting the spaceship. This word choice increases the intensity of the narrative and reinforces the sense of danger that the crew is facing. Captain Peters then summons the crew, and the pacing picks up again as they spring into action to deal with the crisis. The use of short, declarative sentences in this part of the passage creates a sense of urgency and momentum that drives the narrative forward. As the asteroids continue to rain down on the spaceship, the author uses a variety of pacing techniques to maintain the tension and keep the reader engaged. The use of longer and shorter sentences, fragments, and descriptive language all work together to create a sense of rising action and suspense that builds to a climax as the crew struggles to survive the asteroid storm.In conclusion, the author's use of pacing in the given passage is effective in enhancing the narrative by creating tension, suspense, and a sense of urgency that drives the action forward and keeps the reader engaged. Yes, I feel that Homer's depiction of Calypso reinforces the idea of a male-dominated society. In his poem, The Odyssey, Calypso is portrayed as a beautiful woman who is a goddess, but is also completely subservient to Odysseus.

Odysseus is allowed to leave Calypso's island, whereas she cannot leave, and is described as a "captive to his will." Even though she is a powerful goddess, she still remains subordinate to the male protagonist, emphasizing the idea that in this society, men are superior to women.

Additionally, her role as a temptress reinforces the idea that women are only valued for their beauty and their ability to please men. This reinforces the idea that in Homer's world, women are inferior to men, and so his depiction of Calypso reinforces the idea of a male-dominated society.

The initial velocity of Manuel playing luksong tinik has horizontal and vertical components that are equal in magnitude.What angle does his velocity make with the horizontal?

Answers

Luksong tinik is a popular game played by children in the Philippines. The objective of the game is to jump over a set of bamboo sticks without touching them. In this game, Manuel jumps over the bamboo sticks and his velocity has horizontal and vertical components that are equal in magnitude.

To find the angle that Manuel's velocity makes with the horizontal, we can use the trigonometric function of tangent. The tangent of an angle is equal to the ratio of the opposite side to the adjacent side of a right triangle.

Let's assume that the magnitude of Manuel's velocity is V. The horizontal component of his velocity can be represented as Vcosθ and the vertical component as Vsinθ, where θ is the angle that his velocity makes with the horizontal.

Since the horizontal and vertical components are equal in magnitude, we can set Vcosθ = Vsinθ. Solving for θ, we get:

tanθ = Vsinθ/Vcosθ = 1

Using the inverse tangent function, we can find the value of θ:

θ = tan-1(1) = 45 degrees

Therefore, Manuel's velocity makes an angle of 45 degrees with the horizontal when he is playing luksong tinik. This means that he is jumping at an angle that is midway between a horizontal jump and a vertical jump. Knowing this angle can help him adjust his jump to clear the bamboo sticks without touching them.

Interpret What do the headmistress's gestures and expressions tell you about her
motivation for changing the girls' names?

Answers

Answer:

The director's gestures and expressions reveal that the motivation to change the girls' names is to convert the whole world to English standards, even if it has to suppress the culture and individuality of the natives.

Explanation:

This question is related to the short story "By Any Other Name", where the author shows how colonialism sought to suppress the natuvian culture and natural customs, going so far as to modify their identities and personalities. The author shows this, narrating the exchange of names of the girls Premila and Santha, to common Anglo-Saxon names.

The intention of doing this is to show the superiority of English culture and to show the great desire that the English had to take over the world at their leisure. This intention is well explained in the expressions and gestures of the headmistress, who is the person responsible for changing the girls' names.
