(round your answer to 2 decimal places.)

Answers

Answer 1

The net asset value of the fund $9.79 when there are 4 million shares outstanding.

How do you calculate the net asset value of the fund?

The computation of the  net asset value of the fund is shown below:

Net asset value of the fund = Equity ÷ Total outstanding shares where,

Equity= Total assets - total liabilities where,

Total assets equal to

= 220,000 shares × $35 + 320,000 shares × $40 + 420,000 shares × $15 + 620,000 shares × $20

= $7,700,000 + $12,800,000 + $6,300,000 + $12,400,000

= $39,200,000

And, liabilities is $25,000

So, the net asset value of the fund equal to

= ($39,200,000 - $25,000) ÷ (4,000,000 shares)

= $9.79

B) Decreasing production of investment and consumption goods
C) Increasing production of investment goods and decreasing production of consumption goods
D) Decreasing production of investment goods and increasing production of consumption goods

Increasing the production of investment goods and decreasing the production of consumption goods would most likely lead to a rise in the saving rate.

Suppose society faces a broad tradeoff between allocating resources to the production of investment goods (computers) and consumption goods (cars) before the rise in the saving rate described above.

The event that would most likely lead to the rise in the saving rate is option C: increasing the production of investment goods and decreasing the production of consumption goods.

Why increasing the production of investment goods and decreasing the production of consumption goods would lead to a rise in the saving rate? The production of investment goods (computers) would lead to an increase in the capital stock, which, in turn, would lead to an increase in the level of output in the future, thereby increasing future consumption possibilities. Therefore, by investing in investment goods, society can increase future production and, as a result, future consumption opportunities.

Thus, increasing the production of investment goods and decreasing the production of consumption goods would most likely lead to a rise in the saving rate.

Ultimately, the fundamental idea behind challenges for cause is to safeguard the defendant's right to a fair trial by ensuring that the jury is composed of individuals who can render an impartial verdict based solely on the evidence presented in court.

The fundamental idea behind challenges for cause is that individuals involved in legal proceedings have the right to question the impartiality and fairness of potential jurors.

Challenges for cause are used to request the removal of a prospective juror from the jury pool if there are reasonable grounds to believe that the individual may be biased or unable to render an impartial judgment.

The purpose of challenges for cause is to ensure a fair and unbiased jury selection process. It allows attorneys from both sides of a legal case to question potential jurors extensively, exploring their potential biases, prejudices, or any other factors that may prevent them from providing a fair and impartial verdict.

By challenging a potential juror for cause, an attorney is essentially arguing that the juror cannot fulfill their duty to impartially evaluate the evidence and render a fair decision.

Unlike peremptory challenges, which allow attorneys to dismiss potential jurors without providing a specific reason, challenges for cause require a valid and justifiable reason for requesting the removal of a juror.

Common grounds for challenges for cause include prior knowledge or involvement in the case, personal relationships with individuals involved, bias based on race, ethnicity, religion, or other factors, and any other circumstances that may interfere with the juror's ability to make an unbiased decision.

Harry's Pepperoni Pizza Parlor produced 10,000 large pepperoni pizzas last year that sold for $10 each. This year Harry's produced 12,000 large pepperoni pizzas (identical to last year's pizzas) but sold them for $10 each. Based on this information, we can conclude that Harry's production of large pepperoni pizzas a. Increased real GDP by $20,000. b. Did not change nominal GDP. c. Decreased real GDP by $20,000. d. Did not change real GDP.

Answers

Answer:

a. Increased real GDP by $20,000.

Explanation:

Changes in real GDP are calculated by multiplying changes in total output times the base year's price. Assuming that last year was our base year, the price of pizzas is $10 each. The change in real GDP is given by the larger amount of pizzas sold:

change in real GDP = (12,000 - 10,000) x $10 = 2,000 x $10 = $20,000

Harry's production of large pepperoni pizzas Increased real GDP by $20,000. Thus, option (c) is correct.

Others claim that Harry's produced 10,000 pizzas this year, but Harry's actually made 12,000 this year. All reports, however, concur that the cost of the pizzas stayed the same at $10 each.

The base year's price is multiplied by the changes in total output to determine changes in real GDP. Pizzas cost $10 each, assuming that last year served as our base year.

The increase in the number of pizzas sold accounts for the change in real GDP:

Real GDP = ($12,000 - $10,000) x $10 Real GDP = $2,000 x $10 Real GDP = $20,000

Therefore, option (c) is correct.

Which situation would most likely cause a nation's production possibilities curve to shift inward?
Multiple Choice
o an increase in unemployment
o an increase in the amount of imports
o an increase in the number of skilled immigrant workers
o the destruction caused by bombing and warfare in o losing military conflict

Answers

The situation that would most likely cause a nation's production possibilities curve to shift inward is the destruction caused by bombing and warfare in a losing military conflict.

This is because when a nation's infrastructure and resources are destroyed during a war, it can no longer produce goods and services at the same level it could before the conflict. As a result, the production possibilities curve shifts inward, indicating a decrease in the nation's productive capacity.

An increase in unemployment, an increase in the amount of imports, and an increase in the number of skilled immigrant workers would not cause the production possibilities curve to shift inward. An increase in unemployment would simply result in a movement along the curve, as the nation would be producing at a point below its full capacity.

An increase in the amount of imports would not affect the nation's production possibilities curve, as it reflects the nation's ability to produce goods and services, not its ability to consume them. An increase in the number of skilled immigrant workers would actually cause the production possibilities curve to shift outward, as it would increase the nation's productive capacity.

Answers

According to the purchasing power parity model of exchange-rate determination, the exchange rate should reflect the relative prices of goods in different countries. In this case, if the average price of a Big Mac is $3.50 in the United States and 400 yen in Japan, the implied exchange rate would be 114 yen per dollar ($3.50/400 yen).

However, the actual exchange rate is 100 yen per dollar. This suggests that the Japanese yen is undervalued relative to the U.S. dollar, meaning that goods in Japan are relatively cheaper than in the United States. The purchasing power parity model assumes that, in the absence of barriers to trade, the exchange rate will adjust over time to equalize the prices of goods across countries. Therefore, in the long run, we would expect the yen to appreciate relative to the dollar, causing the Big Mac prices to converge.
