Answers

Answer:

The Consultation, also known as the Texian Government, served as the provisional government of Mexican Texas from October 1835 to March 1836 during the Texas Revolution. Tensions rose in Texas during early 1835 as throughout Mexico federalists began to oppose the increasingly centralist policies of the government. In the summer, Texians elected delegates to a political convention to be held in Gonzales in mid-October. Weeks before the convention and war began, the Texian Militia took up arms against Mexican soldiers at the Battle of Gonzales. The convention was postponed until November 1 after many of the delegates joined the newly organized volunteer Texian Army to initiate a siege of the Mexican garrison at San Antonio de Bexar. On November 3, a quorum was reached in San Antonio. Within days, the delegates passed a resolution to define why Texians were fighting. They expressed allegiance to the deposed Constitution of 1824 and maintained their right to form the General Council. In the next weeks, the council authorized the creation of a new regular army to be commanded by Sam Houston. As Houston worked to establish an army independent from the existing volunteer army, the council repeatedly interfered in military matters.

After authorizing an expedition to take Matamoros, Mexico, the council named several men, simultaneously, to organize and lead the assault, angry at the effect the expedition was having on existing Texian garrisons, Smith dissolved the council. Alleging that Smith did not have the authority to disband them, council members impeached him and lieutenant governor James W. Robinson was named acting governor.

was the work of allama Iqbal more important to the pakistan movement than chawdry rehmat ali? explain your answer

Answers

Answer:

Both were equally important.

Explanation:

We cannot deny the importance of the two men mentioned above when we think about the creation of the Pakistani state and the feeling of nationalism among the people of that region. While Allama Iqbal was the great architect of Pakistan and a great activist in the name of the sovereignty and rights of that nation, Chawdry Rehamat Ali was a great thinker and poet where he embraced political issues and exaggerated the Pakistani sense of nationalism. This sense of nationalism was essential to the independence of Pakistan, designed by Iqbal to be a reality. In this case, we can say that both are extremely important.

What was the main purpose of the U.S. government selling war bonds during world war I?

Answers

War bonds were made available to both retail and wholesale investors during World War I (WW1) with the aim of obtaining enough money to pay the governments' increasing military expenses.

World War I, often known as the First World War, was a global struggle that lasted from 1914 to 1918 and is regarded as one of the bloodiest wars in history. It is sometimes shortened as WWI or WW1, and some Anglophone authors also refer to it as the "Great War" or the "War to End All Wars." The fundamental cause of the Great War's outbreak was the murder of Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand on June 28, 1914. (World War I).

The shooting deaths of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie by Serbian nationalist Gavrilo Princip on June 28, 1914, in Sarajevo, Bosnia, served as the catalyst for the start of World War I.

I wanted to share this with you. Is Jesus the only way to get to God? We did not invent the claim of Jesus being the only way. This is not our claim; it is His. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me” (John 14:6, NASB) and, “For unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins” (John 8:24, NASB). The apostle Peter echoed these words, “Neither is their salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12, KJV). Paul said, “There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”(I Timothy 2:5, KJV). It is therefore the united testimony of the New Testament that no one can know God the Father except through Jesus Christ.
The bond between man and nature was broken, with the ground producing thorns and thistles and the animal world no longer being benevolent (Genesis 3:17, 18). Man also became separated from himself, with a feeling of emptiness and incompleteness, something he had not experienced before the fall. However, God promised to make all these things right and gave His word that He would send a Saviour, or Messiah, who would deliver the entire creation from the bondage of sin (Genesis 3:15). The Old Testament kept repeating the theme that someday this person would come into the world and set mankind free.
God’s Word did come true. God became a man in the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:14, 29). Jesus eventually died in our place in order that we could enjoy again a right relationship with God. The Bible says, “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself” and “he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (II Corinthians 5:19, 21, KJV).
Jesus has paved the way for you! God has done it all, and our responsibility is to accept that fact. We can do nothing to add to the work of Jesus; it has all been done for us. How do you become a Christian? Believe that you are loved and accepted by God. Admit that you are a sinner. Acknowledge your sins. It’s not enough to admit that you have sinned. You must regret those sins and then turn away from them. Repenting is asking God to forgive your sins and turning away from them. Commit your life to Christ.
When I was six years old my dad died so, I accepted God as my savior because my mom said that it's better to do life with God. You could say I loved praying and talking to God when I was six, but I didn't really know what it meant. When I was nine years old I started to realize who God was and that I needed Him. A couple of days before my brother died in the hospital, I remember that my siblings and I were over at a friend's house because we needed someone to watch us while our parents were at the hospital, and we had school the next day. I was so tired of crying and worrying about my brother, so I asked God to give me rest and help clear my mind. That next day I slept in, and the daughter of my parent's friend woke me up and said, "It's a snow day", (it was dry the day before) (December). I knew that God was giving me rest and all my school worries went away. When my brother died on December 20th a week before Christmas, I did not get mad at God instead, I thanked Him for the time I had with my brother and knowing that I'll see him soon. I knew that God was a morning with me. Even though God gets to have my brother, He knows that I still have to go through the pain.
People blame God for the things that happen to them because they can and because it's someone to blame. God lets things happen for a reason. That reason is to grow other people. I learned that at the age of nine. I would not be the person I am today if that didn't happen. Many people say they don't believe in God, then they say "it's God's fault, why did God do this? I hate him". Why are you blaming Him when you don't believe in him? It's not fair. When someone dies in a person's life we get mad instead of realizing it's a part of life, we live in a fallen world. I remember this story where there was a pastor that was going to die because of cancer and he kept saying that he was going to be healed. Soon he died. His kids were confused and frustrated. They became mad at God. They didn't realize that God did heal him, he is now in heaven and has no pain. Today his kids don't want anything to do with God. I met one of his kids and we are good friends today but, I can never talk about the thing that is most important to me, which is God.
God wants you to be a part of His movement, whether you accept Him or not just remember He is in your DNA. If you are an atheist you are saying that life has no creator, that is like saying that a book can create its self there is not an author and there is no planning or thought behind the words or how many pages there are.

How did the World War One affect the social, political and economic status of women?

Answer:

World War I's impact on women's roles in society was immense. Women were conscripted to fill empty jobs left behind by the male servicemen, and as such, they were both idealized as symbols of the home front under attack and viewed with suspicion as their temporary freedom made them "open to moral decay. Even if the jobs they held during the war were taken away from the women after demobilization, during the years between 1914 and 1918, women learned skills and independence, and, in most Allied countries, gained the vote within a few years of the war's end. The role of women in the First World War has become the focus of many devoted historians in the past few decades, especially as it relates to their social progress in the years that followed.

Answer:

C. The United States gained large amounts of land because of the Mexican-American War.

Explanation:

The United States territory grew by ~1/3 after obtaining ~500,000 sq mi of land from Mexico, not including the Gadsen Purchase which expanded the territories to the current border.

Why the answers can be, but shouldn't be the others:

A) The Mexican-American War is a victory for the United States, but there are much more important wars fought by the United States that had a greater impact to the US itself, as well as the world. Examples of this can be the American Revolutionary War (which led to the creation of the US in the first place), as well as the World Wars, in which the first set the US up as a industrial powerhouse, and the second as a world superpower.

B) A portion of Mexico's economic problems may stem from its losses in war in history with the United States, however, not all of today's problems could or even should be attributed to the US all the way back to the Mexican-American War. Poor government, failure to keep cartels in check, and corruption in both the Mexican police force and military force has led to Mexico having many internal problems.

D) Both sides can be argued on whether or not it was correct for the United States to start a Mexican-American War, as Mexico had previously shown signs of aggression, and the United States simply moved to eliminate the threat as best as possible. However, that is not to say that the United States is not entirely at fault, just that they are not entirely wrong either.

Evaluate the most significant cultural effect of the First World War during the period 1918 to 1939.

Answers

The First World War had a profound and lasting impact on global culture during the period 1918 to 1939. One of the most significant cultural effects of the war was the emergence of a new literary and artistic movement known as Modernism.

Modernism was a reaction to the traditional values and cultural norms that had dominated Western society before the war. The devastation and trauma of the conflict had shattered people's belief in progress, reason, and order, and artists and writers began to experiment with new forms and styles of expression that reflected this sense of disillusionment.

In literature, Modernist writers such as James Joyce, Virginia Woolf, and T.S. Eliot rejected traditional narrative techniques and explored new forms of storytelling that were fragmented, non-linear, and often highly subjective. They also focused on exploring the inner lives of their characters, rather than simply describing their external actions.

In art, Modernist painters such as Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky, and Georges Braque abandoned traditional representational styles and embraced abstraction, using color, form, and texture to create new ways of representing the world.

Overall, Modernism represented a profound shift in cultural values and aesthetics, and its influence continued to be felt long after the end of the First World War.

Every realist knows that the democratic way of life is at this moment being' directly assailed in every part of the world—assailed either by arms, or by secret spreading of poisonous propaganda by those who seek to destroy unity and promote discord in nations that are still at peace.

During sixteen long months this assault has blotted out the whole pattern of democratic life in an appalling number of independent nations, great and small. The assailants are still on the march, threatening other nations, great and small.
Therefore, as your President, performing my constitutional duty to "give to the Congress information of the state of the Union," I find it, unhappily, necessary to report that the future and the safety of our country and of our democracy are overwhelmingly involved in events far beyond our borders.

Armed defense of democratic existence is now being gallantly waged in four continents. If that defense fails, all the population and all the resources of Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia will be dominated by the conquerors. Let us remember that the total of those populations and their resources in those four continents greatly exceeds the sum total of the population and the resources of the whole of the Western Hemisphere-many times over.

T/F after world war ii, movie attendance declined due to competition from television.

Answers

True, after World War II, movie attendance declined due to competition from television.

The rise of television as a popular medium led to a significant decrease in the number of people going to the cinema. Following World War II, the rapid growth and availability of televisions in homes made it more convenient for people to stay home and watch shows and movies, instead of going out to movie theaters. This increased competition led to a noticeable decline in movie attendance.

As a result, movie theaters had to find new ways to attract audiences, such as implementing innovations like widescreen formats and offering more comfortable seating. The film industry also began to focus on producing high-budget films with special effects and epic storylines, which were better suited for the big screen experience. Additionally, Hollywood studios started exploring new genres and themes to appeal to a wider audience.

Television, on the other hand, thrived as it continued to offer new and diverse content for viewers. This ranged from sitcoms and dramas to news and sports programs, catering to the varied tastes and preferences of audiences. Ultimately, the shift in entertainment consumption patterns caused by the rise of television led to the decline in movie attendance after World War II.
