what were the consequences of the third anglo maratha war

Answers

Answer 1

Results of the Third Anglo-Maratha War:

Peshwa Baji Rao II was deposed and exiled to Bithur as a pensioner of the British. His territories were annexed. The descendant of Shivaji was placed on the throne at Satara.

Answer 2

Answer:

the biggest and most direct outcome of the third Anglo-Maratha war was the political and financial hegemony of the East India company over most of the Indian subcontinent. This war was the final important attempt of British imperialism to dominate India, and victory intended that for the next century and a half the British Empire would totally control India, which include its lucrative trade markets. With the Maratha Empire defeated, India lacked any large power to organize major resistance to the British, allowing them to divide and triumph over the rest of the region. for this reason, victory within the war brought about the East India company gaining control over most of the country.

Answer:

Answer 1: A Two-thirds of both houses of Congress need to approve the amendment.

Answer 2: C They knew that the Constitution would have to be changed over time.

Explanation:

The amendment process was included in the U.S. Constitution because the framers recognized that the document they were creating was not perfect and would need to be modified over time to meet the changing needs of the country. They wanted to ensure that the Constitution could be adapted to new circumstances and that future generations would have the ability to make changes if necessary. The amendment process allows for changes to be made to the Constitution while still maintaining the basic principles and framework established by the founders. This has allowed the Constitution to remain a relevant and effective document for over two centuries.

In a previous unit, you learned that two lines of Hebrew poetry can follow either a synonymous, synthetic, antithetical, emblematic, or climactic form of parallelism. Use your Bible to identify which type of parallel form is used in the following verses of Psalm 22. You may wish to refer to Unit 6, The Psalms, for help with this activity.

Read Psalm 22:10. Identify the type of parallel form that is used.

Synthetic

Emblematic

FAST PLSSSS 15 POINTS

Answers

The verse from Psalm 22:10 reads: "From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God."

This verse uses synthetic parallelism. Synthetic parallelism is when the second line of a verse adds further detail or advances the thought of the first line.

In this verse, the second line, "from my mother's womb you have been my God," builds on and adds to the idea presented in the first line, "From birth I was cast upon you." The poet is expressing the idea that God has been a constant presence in his life since before he was even born. The second line elaborates on the timing and nature of this divine presence, therefore it is synthetic parallelism.

The type of parallel form that is being used is synonymous

Which ideas from the Renaissance contributed to the Reformation of the Catholic Church? Give examples and explain how exactly they influenced the complaints by people such as Martin Luther.

Answers

Answer: The Renaissance was a period of great intellectual and cultural revival in Europe that spanned from the 14th to the 17th century. Many ideas that emerged during this time contributed to the Reformation of the Catholic Church, which was a religious movement in the 16th century that sought to reform some of the practices and doctrines of the Catholic Church.

One of the key ideas of the Renaissance that influenced the Reformation was humanism, which emphasized the importance of the individual and the study of classical literature, philosophy, and art. This led to a renewed interest in studying the Bible and other religious texts, and many scholars began to question some of the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church.

Another important idea of the Renaissance that contributed to the Reformation was the concept of individualism, which emphasized the importance of personal freedom and choice. This led many people to question the authority of the Catholic Church, which had long held a monopoly on religious authority in Europe.

One example of how these ideas influenced the complaints by people such as Martin Luther was the sale of indulgences. Indulgences were certificates sold by the Catholic Church that supposedly granted forgiveness of sins, and they were often marketed as a way to reduce the time a person would spend in purgatory after death. Luther, who was a German priest and theologian, became increasingly critical of this practice and other abuses of power by the Catholic Church.

Luther's criticisms were rooted in the Renaissance ideas of individualism and humanism. He argued that salvation could not be bought or sold, and that it was the responsibility of each individual to seek forgiveness and salvation through personal faith and devotion. He also believed that the Bible should be accessible to everyone and translated into the vernacular language of each country, rather than being reserved for the clergy and scholars who could read Latin.

Overall, the Renaissance ideas of individualism and humanism contributed to the Reformation of the Catholic Church by challenging the traditional authority and practices of the Church and emphasizing the importance of personal faith and individual freedom.

Explanation:

The Renaissance was a period of intellectual and artistic revival in Europe that occurred between the 14th and 17th centuries. Many of the ideas and values that emerged during the Renaissance had a significant impact on the Reformation of the Catholic Church. Some of the key ideas that contributed to the Reformation include:

Humanism: Humanism emphasized the value of human reason, individualism, and critical thinking. This led to a questioning of traditional authority and a greater emphasis on personal interpretation of religious texts. Martin Luther, for example, was heavily influenced by humanist ideas and believed that individuals should be free to interpret the Bible for themselves.
Individualism: The Renaissance placed a greater emphasis on the importance of the individual, leading to a greater focus on individual rights and freedoms. This influenced the Protestant belief in the priesthood of all believers, which held that every individual has direct access to God without the need for intermediaries such as priests or the Church hierarchy.
Printing Press: The invention of the printing press during the Renaissance allowed for the widespread dissemination of information and ideas, making it easier for Protestant ideas to spread and gain support. Martin Luther used the printing press to distribute his 95 Theses, which were critical of the Church's sale of indulgences.
Secularism: The Renaissance saw a shift away from a purely religious worldview towards a more secular one, with a greater emphasis on science, reason, and the natural world. This undermined the Church's monopoly on knowledge and contributed to the questioning of traditional religious beliefs and practices.
These Renaissance ideas influenced the complaints by people such as Martin Luther by challenging the authority of the Catholic Church and its teachings. Luther's critique of the Church's sale of indulgences, for example, was based on his belief that individuals could not simply buy their way out of sin and that forgiveness could only come from God. Luther also believed that the Church had become corrupt and that its hierarchy had lost sight of the true teachings of the Bible.

Overall, the Renaissance's emphasis on reason, individualism, and critical thinking laid the groundwork for the Protestant Reformation and contributed to the questioning of traditional authority that led to the splintering of the Catholic Church into various Protestant denominations.

BRAINLIEST FOR THE CORRECCT ANSWERS!!!!!! How does the rule of law affect society? Check all that apply.

A. It influences people’s behaviors and attitudes.
B. It always prevents lawmakers from abusing power.
C. It ensures the separation of powers.
D. It governs how policies are created.
E. It ensures that the law applies to lawmakers.

Answers

The correct options are:

A. It influences people’s behaviors and attitudes.

C. It ensures the separation of powers.

E. It ensures that the law applies to lawmakers.

Explanation:

The rule of law refers to the idea that everyone is equal under the law and that no one is above it. It helps to promote fairness and justice in society by providing a framework for resolving disputes and holding people accountable for their actions.

Here are the options that correctly describe how the rule of law affects society:

A. It influences people’s behaviors and attitudes. - The rule of law sets a standard for how people should behave and encourages them to follow the law to avoid consequences.

C. It ensures the separation of powers. - The rule of law helps to prevent any one branch of government from becoming too powerful by ensuring that each branch has its responsibilities and limitations.

E. It ensures that the law applies to lawmakers. - The rule of law requires that lawmakers follow the same laws as everyone else, preventing them from abusing their power and ensuring that they are held accountable for their actions.

Option B is incorrect because the rule of law does not always prevent lawmakers from abusing their power. It helps to prevent abuse of power, but it is not foolproof.

Option D is also incorrect because the rule of law governs how laws are enforced, not how policies are created.

Hence, the answers are A, C, and E

A. It influences people’s behaviors and attitudes.
C. It ensures the separation of powers.
E. It ensures that the law applies to lawmakers.

The rule of law is a fundamental principle that ensures that all individuals and institutions are accountable to the law, and that no one is above the law. It influences people's behaviors and attitudes by providing a framework for acceptable conduct, and by establishing clear consequences for violations of the law. It ensures the separation of powers by limiting the authority of each branch of government, and by requiring that each branch operate within its designated sphere of influence. Finally, it ensures that the law applies to lawmakers by subjecting them to the same standards and consequences as other citizens. However, the rule of law does not always prevent lawmakers from abusing power, nor does it govern how policies are created.

Snake Story
Becky moved off of the porch slowly, backing through the door and into the house. She slammed the sliding glass door shut and stood for a moment, relieved to have something solid between her and the snake on the porch.
The glass was cool under her hands despite her pounding heart. She tried to slow her breathing. She was safe, at last, inside. Or was she? How had that snake gotten into the screened-in and walled-up back porch. If it could get in there, it's possible it could get inside where she was as well.
Becky wasn't someone who was normally skittish about wild things. She'd handled snakes before, picked up lizards many times, caught frogs in the garage and let them go. But snakes seemed to always catch her off guard. They would turn up when least expected. She would see them out of the corner of her eye and just the surprise of it would make her jump; her adrenalin would pump, her heart would thump, and her panic would take over.
What was she going to do? She couldn't just stand there waiting for the snake to decide to leave. What if it were venomous? It didn't look like a viper, but it could be. She would need to get out there soon to water the plants.
"What this requires is some advanced planning," she said out loud to her cat, Louie. "And, I will probably have to go 'once more into the fray' kitty," she said, looking in the cat's direction for emphasis.
"First things first, though," she said. The cat meowed back. It often did that, having become used to being talked to. "Let's look that fellow up," Becky said walking to her bookshelf.
"Let's see, snakes," she said, thumbing through her reptile and amphibian identification book. "It's brown and gray, with some black. With a pattern that looks ... there it is," she said thumping the page so hard that Louie jumped. "Not venomous," she said, triumphantly.
"It's an oak snake, Louie," she returned the book and strode over to her closet. "Not venomous, but I am still not taking chances," she said.
She reached into the closet and pulled out her heaviest jacket. It was lined and stuffed thick with lots of padding. Then she found her mittens and a pair of rubber boots. She knew even non-venomous snakes would sometimes threaten to strike when scared. "And that threat would work on me," Becky said aloud again, though Louie had no idea what she was talking about.
"It's 90 degrees outside, Louie," she said, "so get the iced lemonade ready for when I return."
It wasn't much of a plan, but it was the best she could come up with. With her armor on, she was already sweating when she slowly pushed open the sliding glass door and stepped back on to the porch.
She was pretty sure the snake would slither away from her presence. She propped open the outside door, and hoped she could shoo the snake in that direction.
Sweat dampened her arms and collected on her face. She spread her arms out, and took a few steps toward the snake. There was so much for it to hide beneath. Becky regretted the rocking chairs and all the plant stands between where the snake was in the corner and the door to the outside.
At first it seemed like the snake was just going to remain where it was, flicking its tongue every now and then. Becky waved her arms, lunged in its direction, and stomped her feet. It sat there, coiled in the corner, as if perfectly happy to remain there. In a fit of desperation, she picked up one side of the rocking chair the snake was under and let it drop. The snake jumped, raised its head like it was going to strike, and then stayed right where it was.
"Snake," Becky said, "This is not how it works. You have got to go." The snake moved its head back and forth, swaying a bit, and that gave Becky an idea.
She had read somewhere that snakes can "hear" thanks to the ability to process vibrations through the bone in their jaw. This awareness of vibrations in the ground was one reason it was very hard to sneak up on snakes. She quickly realized that getting the snake out was going to be a lot easier than she had thought.
Becky turned on the radio she kept on the porch and lowered it to the ground, pointing in the snake's direction. She adjusted the controls so that the bass was as high as it could go. Then she cranked up the volume. She envisioned the snake swaying to the sounds of "Dancing Queen by Abba, and then leaving the porch and going far far away.
Coming back into the house she began peeling off the now damp armaments she had put on earlier. "Louie, there is more than one way to skin a snake," she said laughing. She watched as the snake uncoiled and moved cautiously in the direction of the door. Bending down to pick up Louie Becky sighed and stroked his head. "'Cause no one ever wants to skin a cat sweetie
The glass was cool under her hands despite her pounding heart. She tried to slow her breathing. She was safe at last inside.

BRAINLIEST- What does the word "re-allotted" mean in terms of government?

Answers

In terms of government, the word “reallotted” refers to the portion of pay that is authorized to be paid directly to another person. How do I know this? Well, the root word here is “allotted.” The word “allotted” refers to money or any form of pay that is given out in portions; it is another term for giving out money for people to share. In the military of the United States, re-allotment is used a lot. An officer or enlisted individual authorized the pay that is being distributed, and from there, it is given out in portions. To simplify it, we can use an example: Let’s say I bought a cake but I am too sick to eat it. Instead of saving it for myself, I give it to three people and they all share it. Notice how in this example I gave out a singular cake and not separate cakes for the three people. This is representative of how re-allotment works in the government; money is given out as a whole, and people distribute it from that point on. If you need to understand this word better, feel free to let me know.
(To distribute or apportion, to have given out a certain amount) ex: the government allotted Stimulus checks

For this assignment, you will write at least 200 words describing the positive and negative effects of settling the West, using evidence to support your reasoning. Your response should also include a description of the effects of railroads on the physical environment.

Answers

Answer:

Settling the West had both positive and negative effects on the region and its people. On the positive side, settlement brought economic growth, increased population, and the expansion of the United States. New industries emerged, including mining, ranching, and agriculture, which created jobs and increased trade. The development of railroads also helped connect the West to other parts of the country, making transportation of goods and people faster and more efficient.

However, there were also negative effects of settling the West. The displacement and mistreatment of Native American populations was a major injustice. The forced relocation of indigenous peoples from their ancestral lands, often to reservations with limited resources, led to the loss of their culture, traditions, and way of life. The destruction of natural habitats and ecosystems through deforestation, overgrazing, and mining also had negative effects on the environment. The use of natural resources, such as water and timber, often led to overexploitation and depletion, further damaging the environment.

The development of railroads in the West also had significant effects on the physical environment. Railroads required large amounts of resources, including timber for railroad ties and fuel for locomotives. Deforestation and mining for resources led to soil erosion, water pollution, and the destruction of ecosystems. The construction of railroad tracks often required blasting through mountains and laying tracks over sensitive habitats, further damaging the environment.

In addition, the introduction of new species of plants and animals, often brought by settlers, had unintended consequences on the environment. Invasive species disrupted the natural balance of ecosystems, outcompeting native species and causing ecological harm.

In conclusion, the settling of the West had both positive and negative effects, and it is important to recognize both in order to understand the impact of this period of history. The effects of railroads on the physical environment were significant, and the long-term consequences of these developments are still being felt today.
